Yeah, the weapon/perk DLC wouldn't work, since it would require people to have the DLC, but IW/Activision can't force everyone to buy it.
Also, I don't get the unlock system, either. My favorite guns are unlocked early in the game (MP5k, M4A1, etc.), and the ones I don't like are unlocked last, with one exception: the F2000.

which brings me to my 3rd point which is they are greedy bastards, which is proved with IW bosses sueing activision over bonuses and losing lol

Keep this in mind: IW listened to the community more than any company I've ever known. Everyone wanted akimbo, tactical insertions, OMA, commando, marathon, pro perks, etc. IW gave that to us, and no one notices that it's our fault, not IW's for making a flawed game. Yes, you could say "Infinity Ward could've ignored us, though". That would be true, but they wanted to make the community happy. They tried to, and now everyone blames Infinity Ward for trying.
