Sure, the game rewards individual performance, and I'm not surprised that people playing pub matches don't want to listen, but just think how great it would feel to play together as a team and have even GREATER opportunities to shine as an individual player. I know, "if you're good then you should be able to hold your own in any gametype," and there's some truth to that, but playing together as a team should (in theory) allow each player more satisfaction in winning, by dying less. Think of it as any team sport, like baseball: the rules are clearly spelled out, as well as the rewards, yet individual players can still be rewarded (MVP, Hall of Fame, Top 10) while playing as part of a team. I would rather watch a season of baseball where the teams remain the same, than watch a season where each game is comprised of a different team roster (mercenary TDM). Why not TRY to ensure a win while earning individual performance rewards? Ya dig??
