Possible, but if those pictures exist then they'll be suppressed with all the might of the U.S. Govt. y'all can't go disrespecting the Muslim last rites of the most important figure in Islamic extremism and not expect some kind of backlash. The wisest move would have been to do exactly what they say they did, get a quick ID, collect some evidential (non-offensive) photos and lose the body as fast as possible whilst preserving Islamic tradition. This man doesn't represent Islam and doesn't deserve and Islamic burial but doing what "his people" would want for him against your own gut feeling is a much more sensible choice than desecrating his corpse plastering the pictures around the world's media and getting the Subways of DC/NYC blown to shit.

Love the language used to report it. I watched the news early yesterday morning and he was reported to be in a "Villa Complex" on all british channels. After 9.30am on all channels it was a "compound" (sounds more military, must use this word for osama). Last night they showed footage from the "kill site".

I think they are making a mistake trying to say how confusing it is in the heat of battle and you cant see much in NVG etc all of which is obviously true. I just think it would be better if they didnt try to walk on so many eggshells. Just say he was asked to surrender, he refused, he was shot (the facts as I have been told so far).

I ask since the amount of conflicting "facts" is bordering on hilarious. The assault took 45 minutes according to one media outlet, 40 to a second, 20 to a third and 2 hours when you look at timestamps from the guy who tweeted it live. 15 navy seals. Or was it 40 navy seals. It's 50+ according to other sources. The pictures of the downed heli from Rueters showing off the "previously unknown stealth capability." Or is it just a helicopter. Helicopter was shot down. Helicopter had technical issues. The million dollar luxery castle, or $250k if you believe local estate agents (assuming you believe the news outlet who claimed to have been told that) Bin Laden had a gun. No he didn't. He resisted. No he didn't. His wife was killed. His wife was shot in the leg. Media outlets r confused wich = public r misinformed.

One thing I genuinley want to know though. How does it take 40 minutes to clear 3 floors. What happens? 10 minute stalemates before someone thinks "eff it" and jumps 3 meters into the next room. COD, tv (Iranian embassy seige n all) films & documentaries have led us to believe it's lots of flashbangs lots of shouting from 4 directions all at once and lasting 4 minutes.

I think it's like everything else that happens at that level. Only the seals themselves will ever know exactly what happened. And even then they'll only know what happened on their side of the building, albeit obviously know the broader plan.

So yeah, no one will ever know.



Having said all that, the whole Navy Seals & British journalist killed by a US grenade became remarkably transparent remarkably quickly. But then who knows if the final story was the truth.

I think these will be close to the truth (though why I am not sure as I have no firm basis for this). I also wonder about some of the other things. Like you said different times. Also from the different things I have read it seams there were only 4 people in the compound. Yet it took 40 mins. Then again wtf do I know about being a navy seal.
