I'm getting an Android phone for the first time and I was looking through all the applications on the Android Market webpage and I'm kind of grossed out that some of the applications you download basically give them permission to mine all sorts of data from your phone.

Do any of you take the permissions into consideration when downloading new applications? I noticed the pay apps are less likely to mine data than the free or LITE versions.

What the fuck happened to privacy? That's like buying a car and then letting the sales rep at the car dealership come to my house and peek through my windows at night.

If this is true Ghost you're really going to have to stop watching pr0n on your phone. xD. I know on my old iPhone you could turn off certain permissions within apps to stop them getting your gps location and stuff. Im sure there must be something similar for android...but i guess it depends on what phone you are getting.

Well, so far I've been careful to read all the permissions before downloading any apps. That's what you get for "Free" apps, they have to make money some how so data mining pays their bills.

So far I really like the phone, just haven't gotten 4G to work yet, and I have a $10/mo add on for that service so they better fix dat shit.
