I just bought this today, 1998 Jetta GLX VR6 (or Vento for my euro pals), 112,000 miles.

And expecting to have it look very similar to this:

I will work on a few mechanical issues first and then the cosmetics, paint job last.

I had the '05 GLI below, but sadly, it got stolen.

Nice car Alpha I used to have a Corrado VR6. It was awesome. Also got stolen.

Don't know about the rest of Europe but its a Jetta in Uk too.

Pants, got it for $3,200... it has a few mechanical issues, but I have a good friend that is an awesome mechanic. I basically pay for the parts, the labor on a water pump replacement is like $60, most mechanics/shops in San Diego charge no less than $200.

You lucky dog, I have always wanted a Corrado. Haven't been able to find one in decent condition.

It sort of depends on how I drive it... city driving 15.5 - 20 per gallon, highway 25-31 per gallon.

That's kind of the direction I want to go with mine. A nice clean look, classic.

That's a nice mk 2. I might get replica BBS, too expensive to get the real deal, I still have a car payment on the MB.

that's pretty fly, looks lowered too... you gonna lower it? other cosmetics? any performance shit or making it a nice looker? seriously if i knew any shit about fixing up a car i'd just keep my sentra and fix it up

I don't know much about modding cars, but a lot of my friends do and are willing to guide me along. I'm thinking of making it a looker with slight performance, nothing crazy. Just like a cold air intake manifold, exhaust system, suspension with a slight dropped stance like 1.2" and that's it.

I want to paint it silver or red and leave the body as clean and 'untouched' as possible, like the one on the youtube video I embedded above.

Similar to this, nothing crazy.

Minus the funky headlights and hood.
