Researching on the webz can help, but you can just go dutch with your roommate on a new TV, you'll pay half the cost and who knows, you might get a good deal.

TVs are usually relatively expensive to repair as the few parts that they have are all rather substantial and expensive and unlike, say, PCs they're not designed to have interchangable bits.

It's probably only worth repairing TVs which are properly expensive in the first place. Very difficult to judge the size of the TV from a vid (also, wtf is that brand lol?) but if it's in the sub £250 catagory then you may as well put the £100 - £150 it would cost to repair it towards a new TV.

Yeah I was planning on buying a new TV anyway, but I was just wondering if anybody knew what might be wrong and if it were relatively simple to fix (i.e. something unplugged or small part missing etc)

It's a Magnavox (made by Phillips) and it's around 22". I was just putting it up since I did lots of research and came up with nothing. I'll see if my roommate wants to bring his... actually, I might just go out and buy one since I'll want it when I'm home anyhow.

Also, Ghosty, can you really tell? I didn't think I sounded any different than any other person. There are people from Chicago with really heavy accents that I can spot right away but I never thought I spoke like them.

Yeah you definitely are. And as far as the 85 Bears go, yeah, it's the only SB we've had, but our 9th championship, so yay. We had the Sox in 05, the cubs.... um... yeah.

We also had numerous NBA championships largely in part by this unknown guy named Michael Jordan.

But most importantly we have sausage. Polish sausage, Chicago style hot dogs... deep dish pizza, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yum
