Default very little activity on the black ops board?

mw2 forum had tons of activity (after mw2 release, and before black ops release)
black ops has hardly any a few months in

my take:mw2 was infuriating, but eciting.so everyone was complaining about it.
black ops is boring, and no one cares enough to even make a thread..

whats your take?

I hate how we've all moved on, but all the new members come along with their MW2 videos because of the name of the forum.

Although I'd agree that Blops is boring at some points, I'd hardly call MW2 exciting, unless you mean exciting as in rage-inducing-blood-vessel-popping excitement.

I dunno, I took a monthly break from Xbox altogether and now that I've gone on, I've found that MW2 is insanely dumb and boring, and Black Ops has aged on me as well, although it's still much fresher than MW2. I finally played COD4 on the copy my friend gave me, and I absolutely hated it. Sorry. Imanub

Maybe it's time to move on to something else? You know, there is a second Crysis 2 demo available on the 360 and PC atm and the PS3 will get it eventually.

I find it fast-paced instead of exciting. Maybe I should have chosen better words. As Serval suggested above, Crysis looks like it will be fun when I get it. I used to be strictly CoD gamer, but now I play all sorts of games and realized what I was missing out on.

I like the maps on Black Ops, it's getting old when I see Derailed pop up on my screen. Probably time to buy the map packs.

They should have never made this new MW2 forum. C4F is more active than this place, proving iEntry wrong. Fools.

[Because iEntry knew in advance that MW2 would become a bit of a flop in the eyes of anyone "hardcore" enough to be on the internet discussing COD games... fire the CEO for not spotting or caring about that one.]

The Black Ops areas of this forum aren't popular for a few reasons:

1) Black Ops probably didn't have as much long-lived hype as MW2
2) This is a MW2 forum. If people want to talk about BO they will probably join a BO forum and not a MW2 one.
3) As mentioned already, BO (and WaW) just don't have that special something about them that IW releases do and as such are just a bit, well "dull" however technically good (or not) they might be.

It's all my fault. I haven't been as active cause of the new scenery of my job place. Maybe it's just me but I got bored of the get into a ton of action all the time. I like a little more stealthy approach and using guns that take a wee bit of skill. I loved COD4, MW2, and Blops. However, my personality dictates that I want something new or different. I also love sniping (like the super cool hardscoping shit) but blops destroyed any love for that so I felt one dimensional in what I could do. I also feel that Blops just doesn't make me feel like I earn anything when I play, it seems almost too easy. That was the big thing about MW2 that was exciting was that you wanted to get those awesome killstreaks to get high kills etc. Therefore, I have mostly been playing a lot of BC2 Regular and Vietnam which allows me to play any way I want and not feel short changed. My rant or explanation of my feelings.

MW2F was carried by the oldfags from C4F, and a few newfags like me, Alpha, Pants etc. etc.

Eventually we got fed up with all the bullshit that came with the retarded 12-year-old newfags, so we became slowly more inactive.

But now the place is a library, nothing's going on, there aren't even any newfags to report or spam.

Part of it could be that, by this point in the COD series, there is little to nothing new with each release. You get a bunch of balance tweaks, some new guns, and some new killstreaks/perk tweaks.

Once you discuss the new stuff, you're just rehashing the old. It has all been said before about one of the earlier games, so there's no need to rehash it.

That's one reason why CoD4 was awesome. It broke away from the WWII craze and brought us into a new atmosphere. To be honest I really hope some of the next CoDs will try something like that again. Even a futuristic CoD I wouldn't complain about.

This is probably the main reason. I certainly went in search of forums initially to learn more and came across C4F, then switched here when Mw2 came out. By then I had read all of the excellent guides on C4F, by 6months into Mw2 I think everyone had written all there was to write about how to play an FPS well. The game may change but basic tactics don't, and once you know to read up on the stats and work out a playstyle that works for you, the forum becomes somewhat redundant other than contacting friends.

Just had a funny thought - there used to be so much moaning about noobs not using the search feature before posting. Perhaps the message finally got through with unforeseen consequences......

Well even so, my favorite part of the forum is AWOL. Just chatting with people, stirring the pot and whatnot. I enjoy the people here more than the topic. I'll go into the game discussion boards from time to time, but the people are what made the forum great. Now that everyone is gone it's sad. We should do w/e we can to revive this place (and yes I'm posting in a month old topic, against the rules? I like to think I'm doing a public service )
