Default Worse Hit detection since last patch?

Any one else noticing this? I remember people were worried about this just before release as apparently WaW suffered badly too, i can't believe with all the effort they put into correcting problems this seems to have got worse over time.
It's pissed me off to the extent I'm rage quitting half my games now and have resorted to zombies for the last few sessions as there's no embarrassing stats to consider.

^ How is that even remotely helpful? OP I've not played MP in a looooong time. The last time I did was on a stolen connection and the lowest ping server was 550ms so hit detection was down right awful.i recall having issues in W@W but since Treyarch allows us PC players to choose our own servers I would just rage and find a different one, hoping that would solve it. Likely the reason I have less than 75 hours on W@W and 20 days on CoD4.

i agree hit detection is the worst on Black Ops..i record and post on my youtube page and i have some good games on there but i dont understand how someone can shoot three foot to the left or right of someone and it kill them! anyone else ever see a kill-cam like that? i have the best internet you can buy in my state and i still lag and get killed by BS.another thing i dont understand is how i can go 34-0 one game and 4-12 the next?...!!...i mean im not the best player out there but im pretty darn good..and when i play MW2 i can go 34-2 without kill streaks every game!! "lag"Ops just has bad hit detection and bad match making!

^Dude, it's fucking lag. It happens in most online games. Some companies just do a shit job of trying to prevent it through various ways and means. My hit detection on Blops is actually still quite good. It doesn't matter if you have the best internet you can buy.

yes your right it is lag but the hit detection on black ops is really bad! if you think that its just lag on black ops your wrong! MW2 has great hit detection..ops is mostly lag..but hit detection is bad too! you have to agree with me on that one!

My hit detection is fine on Black Ops. So no, I at least don't have to agree with you on that one.

This is the thing, it's more subtle than just being lag. If it was just lag then I'd see the same problem in COD4 and MW2. The reason it's not as bad in those games is that either IW are good at hiding it or TReyarch are bad at it. Either way the end result is the same.
I also single out hit detection because in normal playing conditions there is the usual expected lag but hit detection seems worse proportionally.

Now you see, this why having a horrible aim is good. Because I never hit who I'm aiming at, I never have problems with hit detection.

OT: (PC) I didn't have any problems with hit detection after the last patch TBH.

But, I occasionally get retarded hit markers when an enemy has a bad connection, I will shoot at him, sights perfectly positioned and no kill because often he's not really there at all as killcams show me, he just skips and I end up shooting some laggy register of where he was before.

Actually I can't agree with you on that one, it's just as bad if not worse on MW2. IWNet is shitty and I can barely stay in one game without some random error cutting the game off halfway through. It's really not just Black Ops.

That wasn't directed toward you. What ReignMan described is mostly lag. Yes I know the hit detection sucks for you and I believe you.

Personally, my hit detection is great on Blops. I'm actually enjoying myself as I've been getting some good games in and getting some easy kills.

What we can do to compare is to record live gameplay and then also record the game from Theatre mode. Then edit the games side by side and that way we can see, possibly, the difference.

the reason i think its all hit detection on black ops is cause on any other COD game i dont have any problems..On MW2 the only problem is people gettin wifi from three houses down or because they live out in the jungle and you cant kill them! hit detection is great on MW2. just last night i killed a guy and i was shooting five foot behind him, thats garbage! and everyone had full signal! idk what kinda games ya'll gettin in but i tell ya i wish i could get in those games where hit detection wasnt a problem!

XD, so when are we testing?

OT. I find the hit detection on PS3 plops to be shit, where as on the xbox it's ok but I suffer more lag.
MW2 only played for any length of time on ps3 and if I pretend snipers aren't in the game the hit detection is great on mw2.
Haven't noticed hit detection being worse after patch but the whole thing seems to be running worse. More Jerky, more sporadic lag (game almost crunching to a stop then carrying on fine).

I have never been in a game where everyone has full signal, although I don't believe what you described is bad hit detection as it is lag. Hit detection is the ability of the game to discern when a "bullet" passes through the "hitbox" what you are seeing is the bullet passing through the hitbox just not where the visible body is at. This is caused by lag. Bad hit detection is when you actually hit the hitbox and nothing happens. This is prevalent in BC2 where you see blood spray from people that you hit but no registered hit.

If someone isn't moving and you clearly shoot him with no hitmarker then that would probably be an issue with hit detection. I'm not saying there is no issue with hit detection but that not everything is hit detection. I have found lag seems to be worse on blops when I played it even though I had better internet than when I played mw2.

Hooray! I am not mad. Thanks to one of our resident youtubers Dhoop for this video explaining why he can't play BO any more because of......hit detection.

Just got the latest patch advertising the new map pack and the lag/hit detection is still horrific. (PS3)

For whoever asked. My hit detection on xbox seems better than ps3. The game runs so much better on xbox anyway. Graphics are better, better colour runs smoother. I could go on.

I've had no problems on Xbox. I had a great day Sunday even though I hadn't played for a while.
