I agree that it should be nerfed.
I disagree that it's commando-level...but more like non-commando knifing in MW2.
And in that case it's still overpowered in my opinion.

I died countless times by this retarded fucking lunge yesterday. Seriously I managed to put at lest 3 seperate three round burst from an M16 into some twat and he still managed to knife me?? WTF?

What you wrote is technically true. But I know what you meant, and by that you are FALSE. Everyone knows that WaW had absolutely worthless knifing mechanics. As for MW2, I like the description "lock-on instakill" as mentioned above. I can't remember COD4 much.

I meant what I wrote.

In every game since CoD4, the melee distance has not changed. The target values for variables that control whether or not you make contact with a melee attack have not changed AT ALL (in stock versions of the game with no Commando perk).

You know I would not mind the knife lunge if the bullets stopped people in their tracks. Ie if you started knifing and I put some bullets in you while you are lunging, you stop dead in your tracks and die. If you manage to knife me before I put bullets in you then you have won, and I will fight another day. But its totally BS imo if I start to put the rounds in the guy, the game registers a hit but the knifing motion continues anyways.

It doesnt really feel like a lunge, it's nothing compared to what commando was for sure.
I've died a few times to people walking straight at me & knifing me while I'm pumpnig them full of lead, though thats mainly because of the lack of SP, not because of any lunge or whatsoever.
