Okay, so since most have us have played quite a while with most likely numerous different weapons, share what YOU think about the weapons you've used. We all know the stats blah blah blah, but what's your fav & why?

beware of longpost:

1. Skorpion. I used it for a while with the grip, the 50 dmg up close was nice, was pretty accurate with that grip, but long range kinda screwed me over quite a bit.

2. Enfield. Basically my "save up money" weapon, I used it for a long time while I saved up some cash. It's decent all around. Nothing is too spectacular, kills nicely, recoil is sorta high. Was a good weapon for a while...

3. RPK. Meh. Wanted it to be like the RPD, but more like a slow assault rifle. Starts with 40 rounds, but I got ext mags and got the 80-rd drum mag. Recoil's pretty high, it's average but not much more.

4. Galil: Thought this weapon was sorta OP at first, but... the recoil is sort of low, but there still is some. Iirc it has 10 higher dmg than the Enfield, so it kills a bit quicker sometimes. I'm an extmags whore so i used that as well, I just don't like reloading.

5. Olympia: Shotguns are overall meh, but I have it on my screwaround class with the ballistic knife and tomahawk. I don't see how any of the other shotguns are any better statistically, so I just use it with SOH. It kills in two quick shots at "range" and has a somewhat decent OHK range. Have gotten some KSs with it, but otherwise unless you're building clearing it's kinda lame.

6. WA2000/Dragunov: I'm a terrible sniper, and I get lots of hitmarkers. Someone who has a shred of aim can give their thoughts. I hated the hitmarkers, although the variable zoom was a fun little thing to use.

7. M60: Currently my favorite weapon. As many know, I loved the RPD in MW2, and this reminds me of it the most. It's not like the other LMGs, it doesn't have a flat damage, it has 50 up close for around 25m, and then it drops to the 40 that iirc all the other LMGs have. So it is great at closer range, and downs enemies quickly at range as well. Its recoil is about that of the RPD, maybe a bit better, and it rocks with the grip. I might be a bit biased toward the LMGs, but... and it also has a 100-rd clip standard.

8. Stoner63: Picked it up, all i remember is that it had like a ridiculous ROF (denkirson says like 935 rpm or something) and that the 30 round clip was out in like a second. Effective since there's no stopping power, although I'd probably slap on ext mags once i get it.

I'm only like level 26, so everyone else who is like already 1st prestige and shit can give me their opinions.

Also, I didn't find many of the iron sights particularly obstructive. So RDS/Reflex didn't seem worth it... although I guess the dot customization can be fun.

I figured the AK74 was probably OP in some way, I just hate using the weapons that 90% of people are using. I see the AK74u everywhere, the FAMAS not so much, I didn't buy it, I probably should at some point...

I used the ak74u alot, but i feel like just running up and knifing them worked better :S

EDIT: Third sniper is imo only one wirth using. Much better than the intervention from mw2, sniping is easier on pc in bo than it was on mw2.

Its weird how we play the same game and see different things. Yeah, a lot of peeps are using the 74u, but I see at least 2 Famas users each game.

Btw, I tried out the M16 with silencer and RDS and it is a beast.

In my unofficial testing, I found a supressor on the Galil reduced to recoil to almost ACR levels. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm just using the Famas atm. No real reasoning behind it. Dual Mag unless I'm doing a contract.

CoD4 - Potentially overpowered.

I guess the AK has less recoil, faster reload, thats about it... I dunno, I see it everywhere. I'm currently trying to upload at least half a game of me playing using the theater, but i guess you have to cut the 30 second clips yourself...

Ak74 has less recoil, and even less with grip.
But the mp5 recoil resets faster, and has a faster raise time.

I tried to snipe and it was a FAIL. Take my time aim for headshot, hit marker wtf

Unless the 74 has a different penetration class ala CoD4, the two weapons are balanced. The MP5 has higher recoil and reload time in exchange for a faster raise tim while the 74 has lower recoil and reload with a slower raise time.

M14 and RPK are a waste of space.

M14 should have more power for a SA rifle. it is plain useless. RPK (imo) has waaay too much recoil to be effective over longer distances

FAMAS and Galil working best for me so far. Sometimes go with MPK5 + suppressor for CQC.

Also, sniping with Dragunov has been an epic fail so far. Hit markers for chest shots? WTF? By the time i've pulled the trigger again im usually blitzed with a hail of bullets from an SMG or fucking knife lunged.

Already kills in two shots, 3 if you're far away from the target, and with grip it has very manageable recoil. Iron sights are fairly nice, too.

And if damage is still an issue, there really isn't much that can be done without making it horribly OP. If the gun could 2-hit kill without headshots like it could in CoD4 + stopping power, then it'd be an insanely powerful weapon.

If you want a useless gun, have the Uzi. It fires fairly fast, but is weak as hell, it eats bullets at an insane rate, the recoil is certainly higher than the MP5k and AK74u, the reload seems somewhat slow, and the irons are just bad when coupled with the insane muzzle flash.

74u also has grip and grenade launcher attachments while mp5 doesn't. also has better irons imo.

Thanks to Combat Training, I've tried every gun.

Like OP: Caution, long post.


M16: Decent, but could kill faster. Normally 2 burst kill.
Enfield: Good for when you first start, but I'd swap it out when you get 15ish.
M14: Personally, I've loved this gun and its WaW counterpart (M1 Garand), so this is one of my favorites.
FAMAS: Overused. Good, but I hate using it because everyone else does.
Galil: One of the best AR's in my opinion, just the ammo gets eaten through too fast.
AUG: Secondbest AR to me. Looks awesome with Tiger camo
FN FAL: The iron sights were butchered in this game. I liked in it MW2, but in BO I'm not a big fan.
AK47: Always loved this gun, always will. I'll leave it at that.
Commando: This one is my least favorite. It doesn't perform well to me, and it looks retarded.
G11: My overall favorite. Looks like the MW2 FAMAS, but it's so much more badass.

MP5K: See FAMAS
MAC11: It's ok, eats through ammo too fast.
Skorpion: Quite possibly my least favorite gun in the game.
AK74u: See FAMAS
Uzi: Liked it in MW2, hate it in this and CoD4
Spectre: My favorite SMG. Little recoil but high RoF.
MPL: Good for zombies, a lot better in MP.
PM63: See MAC11
Kiparis: Of all the classified guns, this one is the worst.

RPK: Good when you first begin, but again eats through ammo too fast & has a lot of recoil.
M60: Loved it in CoD4, even more here thanks to better iron sights.
HK21: I'm on the fence for this one. Sometimes I love it, other times I can't get a kill with it.
Stoner63: Good, but it's RoF wastes its clip in 2.5 seconds.

L96A1: As good as the M40A3, if not better. Easy to quickscope with too.
Dragunov: Better than in CoD4, but always a 2 shot kill for me.
WA2000: Never liked it.
PSG1: Barely better than the Kiparis in terms of classified guns.

SPAS12: MW2 counterpart was better. I'd like it more if Dragonsbreath was in MP.
HS10: I hate this shotgun so much, I can't even explain it.
Stakeout: My favorite shotgun, looks cool and it's the only good one for me.
Olympia: Better than the Ranger but worse than WaW's DBS.

Colt: Looks so much better with silver plating, favorite sidearm.
Python: I've always hated Revolvers in the series.
CZ75: Good normally, full auto blows.
ASP: For some reason, this one allows me to fire almost full auto with my trigger finger. All others don't let me shoot as fast
Makarov: Good sidearm for snipers, otherwise not a big fan.

RPG7: Always amusing, especially in Sharpshooter
China Lake: It's the Thumper, but oh-so-much worse.
Strela 3: Pretty pointless aircraft only launcher.
M72 LAW: Overall best launcher for normal gameplay. Only one that's freefire & vehicle lock on

Crossbow: Fun normally, Wager Matches not so much.
Ballistic Knife: Same as above.

Death Machine: Same as above.
Grim Reaper: Same as above.

I've been using the Stoner as of late. It's a great weapon, the only one that makes me not completely rage my fucking head off due to around 2904830984903 hitmarkers/getting killed while i'm shooting.

It has the highest DPS with a 935 RPM rof... yeah it eats through the clip, but even when I don't use extended mags it's sort of nice.


For some reason when I waste my money on the red dot customization, i do better... i guess a purple X makes me happy when I shoot guys

I somehow never saw purple as a dot color.

I'm actually kind of annoyed how you can have a heart or diamond, but not a spade or club/shamrock. Like seriously, wtf.

I either sport a yellow smiley face or a blue skull.
