Default Knives and Claymores need less range.

Yes, I know the "knife lunge" topic is there. but I feel this needed a new topic.

How come the knives and claymores have such absurd range? These deaths of mine show what *shouldn't have* happened

This is one of those things in the game that *really* needs to be fixed.

the knife range sucks, but theres a counter to claymores. I've survived a bunch, and so have my enemies

I know there's counters (like the perk that I'm forgetting what it's called), but this is the total other end of the room, and triggering it & dying.

I've done the same thing and lived. Probably due to lag, but...

I dunno, Im not sure what I think about claymores, I mean I think they should be powerful, if you want to defend your back, it makes everyone else play more carefully when entering a room.

In MW2 i just about abandoned claymores because people could run right over them...

IMO claymores are fine, since they're stunned and easily avoided with stuns/flashes, and totally countered by Hacker and Flak Jacket.

If you're paying attention and hear a claymore activate, you get just enough time to run the opposite way and not die. Claymores are annoying, but no more so than in CoD4. Less, in fact, because Bomb Squad didn't make them bright red like Hacker does.

Knives don't seem to be any different to CoD4 or WaW, or even MW2 without Commando...

No-one's mentioned you only get 1 claymore per life. As far as I'm aware, Scavenger doesn't replenish them.

Yeah, every game has had the same lunge since CoD4 (excepting commando ofc). Any seeming difference is connection issues and/or bias.

Does Lightweight affect the lunge?

I have no problem wtih the claymore. It has the perfect counter in Hacker so is not an unbalanced aspect.
RC cars on the other hand.........

Claymore's seem pretty fine to me really. They might have more range (not even sure if this is the case really, but going out from what you claim), but they also seem to do less damage. I've survived & people have survived my claymores more in a single week of Black Ops than in a year of MW2.

Knife, I honestly don't know how to feel about it. It isn't the same lunge as in MW2, I believe the BO lunge:

1) Only works when you are sprinting. You can't lunge from regular running, crouching, proning, standing still. This already makes it significantly less of an issue than the MW2 lunge.
2) The hit detection of the knife seems to work completely different to. I havn't got any actual data on this, but from my experience it seems as if the knife damage is done on the actual moment that you reach the player & that the game actually counts in that you have to travel that distance.
In MW2 it seemed as if the knife insta hit, without even traveling that distance & that distance not being counted in.
Why do I believe this?
I don't think I ever died while lunging towards a target in MW2, yet i've done it plenty & had it done to me in Black Ops. Those targets would've actually died most of the time, if Stopping Power would simply be integrated in the weapons.
Which brings me to say yet again, if stopping power is integrated this wouldn't be a problem either.
