User Titles / Rank update

Hello all,


Just to a quick update to say "please bear with us" whilst we experiment with some more MW2 themed user titles and user ranks. Please ignore any weird formating, odd-looking images or missing user titles in the top of your postbit

We're also hoping to implement some sort of moderation, most likely a post limit, in the media section. Whilst attracting new users by letting them post vids is great, we also need to take care of our existing members.


Just incase you're wondering why another member has an image and you have a plain text user title it's because it only updates each time you post.

The question I have is...

Why did you get rid of the other 'actual' ribbons? Although the new 'member camo' designators look cool, I much prefer the look of the 'military robbons' much better.

Mine went away, is that definte, I certainly hope not.

I think we should bump up the whole senior member thing now. 100 posts doesn't mean anything anymore.

We're boosting the Senior Member post count, and we're introducing a few more ranks to go with the callsigns. We've also put the highest rank at a good number.

Not only have we boosted the level of Senior Member, we're also adding more user ranks than the 3 we had previously.

In case you didn't catch my post in the thread in the Site Feedback section, we already have a set of new images lined up to test. They are smaller, and much more MW2 oriented than the current ones. I'm personally excited to see where this goes.

At the end of the day it's a tiny little picture on a forum - so don't get too angry about it

However there is no reason why I shouldn't explain why... The user rank (those ribbons) are based on post count and the user titles (formally words, now images) are also based on post count. No need for two of the same huh? So we are trying to combine them in some cool MW2-orientated way via a single image. (two images looked... ewww)

This seems to be a really good idea. Shame, I did quite like the military ribbons before.

I also like the idea of boosting the senior member post limit. There has been a few times when I've seen senior members on here that I've never seen before at all. Maybe add a time limit aswell? Could stop people spamming there way to the title within a few days.

Oh yeah, we are certainly going to use the post limits similar to the user ranks (those ribbon things) Haven't decided yet but it'll certainly go between 1 and 1500~ posts. We can always add more later.

I only have a little above 100 posts-- does that mean i will be demoted to something other than senior member? I won't be mad if that's the case, I'm just curious. I agree that 100 posts is easy to come by.

Yes most certainly. If you'd like to think of 6 or 7 titles that are more "senior" than "senior member," good luck

Just think of it as starting again. Senior member will be something around the 500 - 800 post mark so virtually everyone will be "de-promoted" in that sense. The good news though is there'll be lots more levels/icons/images whatever this time.

I just always looked forward to the next Ribbon, that was a cool thing and refreshing from what other forums have/had.

Not angry... change messes me up.

Maybe you/we misintepretted?

You will still get a new picture everytiem you reach X number of posts? The only reason everyone is currently a "senior member" is because the post-counts are all wrong and we haven't finished making the images yet.
