It's happened many times before already that innocent people were put to death, it isn't even a 1:100 ratio, probably way higher.

I cannot see how anybody could ever possibly claim that the above is wrong.
No different from collateral casualties in war... it's not a good thing but the nature of the beast. It's less likely today to be convicted wrongfully than it was in the past.

How can you possibly compare casualties of war to innocently executed people? They are completely different things in completely different situations.
The only thing they have in common is that neither should be happening & that we should do everything that is possible to prevent either, not tolerating them.

Just becausz it happens less frequent, doesnt mean it still doesnt happen. I've read up on plenty of cases before where people were convincted even when there wasnt any significant evidence, just speculation and some slick work of the lawyers, influencing the jury; only to have a dna test prove afterwards that they were wrong.
Hence why I believe that in the first place a death sentence should NEVER be in the hands of a public jury. It's so easy for lawyers to influence them, on top of the influence of the media, who already speaks out a verdict the second somebody is put under suspicion.

I think that there is nothing wrong with capital punishment. If you murdered an innocent person who did nothing wrong, then you derserve to die. I think that you should even die a slow and painful death. Murder is the worst crime, and you deserve to pay 100 times what your victim took. I hate the eighth amendment.
