Default Counter Strike for PS3

If there are any PS3 gamers here that used to play PC, there is a game on the store that gives more than a nod to the classic pc shooter.
Modern Combat
Obviously trying to pull in the cod croud withe the name but it feels more like cs to me. Good team base alternative to cod and headset is not essential.
For the money this is a great game, especially when you consider what you pay for 5 maps from cod.

Spoiler:

Wonder which pc player will complain first

Played the demo for the 45 mins playtime it gives you.

The game mode you are allowed to play in the free demo is a search and destroy type game where the attackers have to reach 2 missle trucks and arm them, then proceed to protect it untill they launch.

The defenders obviousley stop them.

The graphics are better than i thought they would be, they are easy on the eye that is.

The actual gameplay is pretty much the same as CoD in the way the controls are the same so you instantly get on with it, it's probably worth noting that its compatible with the move controller but that looks complicated from what i saw in the loading screen.
When i first starting playing it felt really slow to respond and in general a bit clunky, but once i changed the sensitivity it felt a lot better, its a bit like playing black ops on a console sensitivity 4.

The main problem i found was actually getting into a game with actual players, whenever i pressed play online it would serach for a game then try and join it, then send me back to the main menu again if the room was full and that happens nearly all the time. After so many attempts it puts you in your own lobby that no one ever joins. If you say start match you get bots which are like the recruit bots from combat training.

The loadout system is based on $s earned during matches via kills, defends, offensives, knifing and so on, which in turn allows you to buy better equipment.
You get to customise primary weapon, secondry weapon, lethal grenade, tactical grenade and a peice of equipment. no perks.

There is also a level system where you earn xp in the usual way and rank up.

Not bad, i quite enjoyed it when i actually got a game. If this a few more game modes and you can find a game easily in the full version i would probably buy this for some fun
