Default My ventures into competitive Call of Duty 4.

So I've recently joined a CoD4 team, as I got bored with playing on pub servers, and I wanted to get better. This thread will be partly for clips/videos, and also partly some screenshots of matches etc. They will become more frequent if my team ever stops playing WoW though.

Last night, I played a match on the latest Promod release 2.11, just as a beta tester. 2.10 was a fail mainly due to the lack of testing. This isn't really a competitive game, it's just a pick-up to test the new mod and servers etc., so not everyone is playing keen, but they're still very good players.

Here's a couple of clips made mainly for a quality test.

Watch in 720p please.

Spoiler:
Embed for lazy people:

Thread will be updated when I put out new stuff.

Needs more HUD.

Deagle kill at the end was pretty good.

You can play CoD4, I can't.(console Cod4 is an absolute disgrace now, you can also play CoD4 well, and I can't :P)

Nice vid, quality seems pretty good, moaaaaaaaaar :P

Also, the switch to secondary/quick cancel of a switch to secondary, that just habit?

Pretty much. Shortens the reload time, makes firing after climbing etc. faster and prevents the final noise made by the animation. It can be quite difficult without it, now that I think about it.

Default Re: My ventures into competitive Call of Duty 4.

Bumping this thread to add some screenshots of scrims and mixes that I have done well in.

Spoiler:

Click to make pictures readable. I have no idea why Imageshack doesn't let you resize to any 16:10 formats.

There is a couple more, but Imageshack is being incredibly slow at the moment.

The screens against teams without a tag are "mix" teams that are put together with people who either don't have a regular team, or their team are otherwise busy. The screen where I have the k2 tag is from me mixing for a different team because they were missing a player, and 4on4 is usually the minimum that teams will play.

On a slightly related note, why do I always forget to record demos in matches where I get good kills? Because of this, and because I'm still playing WoW (don't judge me), I'm still trying to collect decent demos and it could be a short while before I get any decent vids up.

This is getting repetitive.

But then it does what it needs to - the focus is on player skill. no distractions.

And it massively improves performance.

Still, I like some textures. =/

Yeah, I use the Yitch3 config for playing.

Actually, just for reference, this is a pic with ultra high res textures, 16xAA etc., with a movie config:

BUMP.

Neglected this thread quite a lot, so here's an update.

My team's Youtube channel.
All the videos on there are currently mine.

Our team leader is such an indecisive person that we have struggled for a long time to find suitable teammates, with one our first members retiring through illness, another going back to CSS, and any new trialists being not good enough/not having the right attitude.

Anyway, we have become a lot better over the past few months, moving from low/low+ skill to med+ (on a good day). Here are some more screenshots for you.
