Among the other trailers shown off tonight at the Spike Video Game Awards, we got a cinematic look at Halo Reach. Though it didn't show gameplay, it did confirm some suspicions about the plot direction for the upcoming title. We saw several new Spartan characters, briefly discussing a lost comrade. Notably, one was female (as hinted on the latest Major Nelson podcast), and another had a skull painted on his helmet similar to Ghost from Modern Warfare 2. We couldn't discern from the trailer if the rumors regarding squad combat were true, but one character does mention that the mission doesn't involve "lone wolf" tactics. It certainly is making the most of the mythology built around the Spartans. And of course, it's scheduled for fall of 2010.
