Ok well my ps3 turned itself off whilst i was playing FO3 and the red light started flashing and when ever i turn it back on it doesnt even load it just turns the green light on for 5 secs then returns to flashing red.

I rang sony and they said they will replace it but it will cost £131 which i cant afford atm. I asked what was the problem and they said it was due to a faulty component.....well durr!! so in other words it fucked lol

Sooooo Greg, Jo, Chris, Sho, Clit, Ray, Geoff, Adam, tuck, joey, jaymz, Ohcarl, carlos, james and the rest of AoA im afraid i wont beable to join ya on MW2 or BF2 for about a week or two till i get the money. So dont rub it in on here lol

This is the same thing that happened to my recently deceased PS3. Eventually if you keep trying to turn it on/off, you will probably get the YLOD. Yellow Light of Death.

If you like to share downloads, try turning on your PS3, go into Account Management, and deactivate the console for the Games area. Just in case, later down the road you might want to get your downloads back. But if your account isn't already activated 5 times, you should be fine.

My old PS3 got repaired, got it back, worked for 8 or so months, and died again. So I just saved up and bought a new PS3 Slim. New system, new warranty, new everything. It's your call though.

Honestly, if I were in your situation I'd buy a 360. Costs less and without doubt has better online gameplay.

The only reason I wouldn't do it though would be my PSN friends. Up to you.

My PS3 dies on me for the fourth time on Friday. I only had it back from the Sony Repair Centre for 10 days. I'm going to get it fixed as quickly and cheaply as possible, then trade it in for a 250GB PS3 Slim.

He will still have credit though, via trophies. However unless he can back up his PS3 hard drive (not likely, since it won't even turn on), he will lose all save data.

Wow Fenny. You and I are in the same position. Both our PS3's are dead, and both of us had 66 stars on Spec Ops mode. Spooky...

The only level I hadn't finished was High Explosive (Echo). Kill 10 Juggernauts with only explosives and a knife? Yeah right!!

The best way to do Wardriving, is to clear out the 3 target houses first, then position the 3 sentry guns to cover the house you wish to download from first. Find a hiding spot in the house and order the vehicle to lay waste to the area after you start the download. Then you just rinse and repeat for the other 2 houses. The enemy won't know what hit them.

The Snatch & Grab mission was a challenge, but if you take it slow, and have a buddy helping you, it becomes easier and it's a lot of fun.

I'm going to enjoy playing through Spec Ops mode again...

Wait so if your PS3 breaks during normal use due to a componant failure you have to fork out for a new ps3?

That sucks, is there no warranty that covers this? Surely if it breaks under normal use (and hasn't been dropped, attacked submerged in water etc) the fault is Sony's and they should give you a new one?

You only get a years warranty, ive had mine since launch date lol.

But sony is not making me fork out for a new one, they said they will swap my one for a refurbished one that works. But it will cost £131, its cheaper than buying a new one BUT its not a new one and it only has a months warranty
