i tried the BC2 demo, but that left me cold.
seemed like a console port, or something:

controls seemed fubar'ed, mousewheel up did the same thing as mouse wheel down, etc - just didn't seem like fps controls i'm used to and love.

and as i used to love sniping in BF2, i never heard of a sniper who
couldn't go prone!! ?? :-(

had a quick go at the Alien vs Predator demo.
that too left me out, once again the controls seemed a little wierd,
and it just didn't seem to have the same "feel" of the original (which i loved!).
another console port?

i'm hyped for Dirt2 (as soon as i get my HD 5850 vidcard - still can't decide
which one to get, yet, and looking forward eagerly to the rumoured
TDU 2.

but i'm still basically an FPS player at heart, and wondering what's the next (hopefully) good FPS shooter coming down the pike? :-)

You could try CS promod. Goldeneye source is still in progress. L4D2 maby?

I personally still like CS 1.6/MW2/MW1, so I'm satisfied for the time being.
I might buy BF2, but I never been much of a battlefield fan, so I doubt i'll play it alot.

I'm getting my fps fix from CSS atm. watching my mate compete is always good too. I've played a little of promod for CSS I haven't played 1.6 extensively so Im not in a good position to talk about it's merits. My aforementioned friend says it is good but is still very much beta,

he gave The example something to do with the css hitboxes remaining and the awp characteristics being more accurate or something. The end result was awping was a lot easier.

Yeh, the current version of promod is on the right track, but not quite there yet.
I've played it 1 evening, but thats about it. Felt like I was playing CSCZ all over again

lol tried CS several times over the years to hang out with a bud...

always seemed a little too boxy for me, never could get into it - seemed outdated compared to everything else i was playing at the time.. :-)

Can't wait for the next MOH. Was a big fan of the earlier but kind of went off track coming across to the next gen. Not sure of a release date yet though.

COD:Vietnam is still pencilled for Autumn.

Apart from that I'm not really sure? Killzone 3 and GOW3 are both due for next spring on PS3 and 360 respectively.

I know its not really an FPS, but Fallout: New Vegas is due before Christmas.

I'm not quite sure if it was "OFFICIAL", but I am pretty sure. Read the MW3 thread I just posted in, theres a link with a lil bit of info. I really can't be bothered to dig up the specific page about this though.

Didn't see anything about Vietnam, but I have heard the rumour before. I have read something from Treyarch though that said they had not finished with WWII and while didn't give anything away they appeared to hint that the next game from them would still be WWII.

They were caught trademarking vietnam era songs last year and there's been a few other unofficial rumours and leaks. This also seems interesting. Pretty sure Vietnam is the way it's going to go.

Still have doubts, but i hope it's true. Played enough WWII and Future shooters. I suppose modern is getting overkill too but still feels fresh.
Now Vietnam.

I would have thought that Vietnam would have been a no go zone with all the controversey surrounding it. Then again profit.

After all the films, made about it, I doubt no one can complain too much. Obviously Treyarch will have to tread lightly, but that should be the case with any game that surrounds the subject of war.

Mm...... IMO the best/most "fun" (note the quotations /rage) is still Call Of Duty 4, but the new Medal Of Honour is looking very good, you should keep an eye on that.

I played that a lot, it's a great game you should totally try it, one of PC's FPS classics for sure!

There aren't many ppl playing it now, but you should find some good servers, and it has "infamous" hit boxes, sometimes it'll miss dead on shots which can cause some mild-high rage ^_^

Overall it's a quality additive game.
