I recently bought this game from steam, limited edition version. Soon after buying this, I read the reviews on Amazon and was astounded at the amount of complaints about this game! At first I disagreed but now I'm not so sure.

Firstly, the single play is unremarkable. I'll leave it at that.

The multiplayer however seemed good at first. I'm thinking otherwise now. The thing that annoyed me was the design of the maps - all they are is some random landscape scattered with building. That blow up. The fully destructable thing seems great at first, but soon you realise that there is NO cover whatsoever. If there's a tank nearby your main chance of survival is to RUN! If the tanky is thorough enough he'll bring the whole building down with you inside it - funny, yet annoying.

Then there's the issue with size. They're simply not big enough! I feel like I'm squeezing a tank down a Virgin's Hoo Ha. All I can do is SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT or RUN OVER RUN OVER RUN OVER. This doesn't feel like battlefield anymore. The maps are littered with restricting foliage and are as dull as shit. The fact they removed planes for this tiny crap is astounding. The game just feels like a generic FPS with some tanks and other small things like that. CoD 3 maybe? remember how much we loved that one....

However, despite all that I do love the weapon and customisation options. It works well, and I never even notice the bonuses others get from the limited edition. It seems balanced well enough so far I think. The servers are pretty slow though, and some of the serch fields give me wrong results lol. I searching specifically for non full/empty games and the list had plenty. And yes, I did press the search button.

If I've got some facts wrong please forgive me, but my general impression of this game isn't too good. I'll give it some time to allow for updates (steam just downloaded one just now!) and getting used to the new battlefield style but I won't be too eager to do that really.

Your opinions? Now time to play some napoleon total war....

I love the game. Only real issue is how my game stutters (I'm a PC player).

The only thing that annoys me about the game isn't the game itself, but rather the players - yes, there is a tank there. No, 50 snipers on our 16 man team isn't going to help.

Though, having a bunch of idiots sniping on your team is very good for medic revive points - racked up about 1,000 points constantly reviving 4 snipers on one game.

It's soo good when they're really shitty. and keep getting countersniped, free revives.

EVEN BETTER! When they're shit, and so is the enemy snipers, so you rack up shit loads of heal points as well as the revives.

Not interested in dishing out $60s to play a game that tries to be Modern Warfare. At least in MW2 you have to earn your killstreaks. In BC2 all you have to do is camp the vehicle's spawn to get the rewards.

Is it all that it's cracked up to be? Probably not. It's over hyped, has plenty of flaws but is still good fun... well I'm having fun.

It's not MW2 and it's not trying to be Multiplayer MW2 despite what the marketing bullshit department at EA want you to believe.

It's not better, just newer and different.... and it's not going to kill MW2.

Just don't go in playing it like CoD, you wont get far. To be a success at the game you *must* make use of teamwork to achieve goals, assist each other and have patience (I haven't timed a game yet but often it feels like they go on for about 40 minutes). These things are important in MW2 but not as much as in BC2 and likewise, Speedy reactions and map knowledge are not as crucial as they are in MW2 but certainly help.

Vehicles aren't rewards. They're just a different facet to the game that are *at best*, on par with pretty much any other task. I don't see my score change dramatically when on a vehicle. As mostly a Recon player, camping for vehicles is downtime where I could (should) be spotting for my team from a useful vantage point. I'll generally only pick up a tank in Rush if I happen to spawn at base and one's there or I hitch a ride. It's not uncommon to see a full fleet of vehicles untouched for large durations of the game at the base camps.

Also if you were to completely deck out a chopper or tank with a full squad, that's a third of your entire team (on console - 12 players per side is max on a map) all in the same place at risk from the same attack. Vehicles can be dangerous in that respect and overuse should be treated with caution.

In Conquest which is a little more fast paced, I'll be more aggressive with vehicles but not to the point where it's camp, drive, camp, drive.

I think the quickest game I have played would be a game we dominated as attacking, would have been 10-15 minutes perhaps.

I consistently get on top of the leaderboards without a vehicle. In fact I think it's detrimental to get a tank unless you have a good squad of engineers backing you up, they just get destroyed otherwise. I've taken out heaps of tanks with a well placed morter strike, Anti Tank Mines, Rockets, C4 and stationary TOWs. It's not that hard.

Hm. I haven't played BC2 and right now my assumptions are coming from the original BC. My pal and I would always camp at Apache spawn and I would repair it every time it got damaged. I'm still not convinced its worth a purchase though. Don't get me wrong I've heard good things, but my experience with the first Bad Company is the cause of my skepticism. IMO that game's mutiplayer was fun for a week before it got old.

The problem I have is that I went into this game thinking it would be like the other battlefield games. It's trying too hard to compete with MW2 and while still a good game, it would have been much better if they'd just improved the old recipe for battlefield. They didn't even add much, only take away, which is grinds mah gears. I WANT MOAR VEHICLES DAMMIT! AND MAPS TO DO THEM JUSTICE!

Eh, it's two different playing styles. I like BC2 more a little bit becasue to me it's slightly more realistic. It works for my type of play slow and steady. It only sucks when I don;t have a squad and keep spawning at the edge of BFE.

Downside

I have it on pc and love it. There's plenty of ways of going about your objective. The fact that there's no ks rewards also means people care less about their own k/d ratio in game and go for the objective more. It suits many playing styles to as its good for sniping, attacking or supporting your team, what takes your fancy. On the whole I find it a lot less frustrating to play than mw2.

Also, If you were in real life, And there was one tank(And he sees you), and you hide in an building, Its quite realistic that he blows the hell out of the house with you. Unlike MW2 where you throw an noobtube in an building and get an triple kill.

Just started playing it. I played 1 game of multiplayer and i'm getting kind of far on single player. Single player is AWESOME so far. Multiplayer I haven't played enough to really give a correct opinion on it, but it seemed alright. Although i'd consistently run into snipers camping in bushes. But I think I could get the hang of it. So far so good.

I dislike the assault guns of B:Bc there so out powered... i mean the only way of getting a kill is "Tapping" the mouse button aiming for the head...
(maybe this is just me, cuz im used to empty my mag straigt in the enemy :P)

and as a sniper (or anything els) its also not great the fact there isnt a lie down button, whats a game without lieing down or better sad: "HITTING THE DIRT"

afteral i prefer MW2 over B:Bc i think the "Battlefield2" is even better than the B:Bc

and honoslty its cool the fact everything u see "can" be destroyed, but like MoleMania sad on a multiplayer game its not so cool no more...
tank/rpg dude/grenade/tuber/mortar/any explosive/... u hide in a (a bit broken) building... bang ur dead? whut building got destroyed with you in it...
