Are you serious? no God of war 3 topic? WTF?! okay, i just bought the game last night, and i'm loving it. graphics are stunning, i love every part of it so far! the finishing moves are brutal. daaaamn it is awesome!

even if you've never played the earlier god of war games, you can follow the story easily if you have someone sum up the stories

I played the demo, and visually, it looks brilliant.

I didn't buy it though. Read some mixed reviews, saying that the story wasn't great, the combat was shallow, and the bits that didn't include combat, were quite dull and repetitive.

Not really a big fan of beat 'em ups though tbh.

I have GOW3, beat it already...Here's what I think:

1. The story is good, if you've played the previous games in the series. But likewise, they've opened the story so wide that it doesn't require following the previous games. The only, and I do mean, the only complaint that I have with it is that some parts are inconsistent with the earlier happenings. For example, the ending had an opportunity to use a weapon again. It will give you that "Why the fuck they didn't use his weapon?"

2. The combat has been improved since GOW1/2 - its not shallow, the developer has made it simple to integrate combos with another combo, or attack. If you attacked one person, you can attack the other. There's even a 1000-hit combo trophy to earn, and you can do it in many ways.

The only complaint I have with the game is that its so fucking short for a $60 game. -_- But I don't mind, because the game isn't that easy to develop. I want to pay for a high quality game, and GOW3 is it.

Did you at least try the challenge mode or do you have plans to play it again on a harder difficulty?

I did try the challenges, they are hard. I'll get around to finishing them, because I heard there's a battle arena to top it off.

The harder modes are ridiculously hard, at least from what I heard. But I'll get around to it. I want the trophies!

I restarted GOW3 a few days ago on easy to get the other easy trophies. I got the 1000-hit combo, I almost got it when I fought the scorpion.

And on top of this, I think we're getting DLC soon; its probably going to include the cut-at-last minute levels that will document the battles against the titans. Honestly, Sony should've delayed it to include this. Eh well. :-/

GOW 3 is brilliant just like all the others.

loved it first play through and still love it now.

completed on all difficulties, the biggest difference being the need to block parry and dodge a heck of a lot more and with practice you really do feel like a God doing your counter attacks then dodging then slamming into another bad guy to get out the way of another attack.

i really love the weapons in this one hades claws are just wicked. and those big fist lion heads are just absolute pownage.

the boss fights are all on a huge scale, and just feels awe inspired.

also there is certain collectables to make your next play through more enjoyable, things like infinite magic and rage, gimicky costumes that usually have a big pro side and a big negative side to them but great fun to use.

not really a game for the squeemish though.

the sword that drained Krotos's power was the sword of olympus, which is the sword you use during the rage of sparta. (the go nuts mode)

the challenges are extremely hard, not done them all as one of them is really annoying me and had to just stop before i raged out hulk style but the clues in the name its a challenge lol.

if you haven't played the originals they are out in a trilogy pack or seprately available as a double pack and are definately worth getting.

Never played any GoW game... I got Dantes Inferno which is apparently a blatant rip off of GoW. Had some fun with that but one button masher is enough for me I think. The theme was pretty interesting and creative, although a little over the top, but awesome visuals & art - very much inspired by the classic artwork based on the poem.

I finished all the Challenges of Olympus. Now I am working to get all the trophies. I've beaten the game 3 times already, am on my 4th.

5th is going to be titan mode. I'm currently stuck on Hade's ridiculous titan bullshit.
