Not really. Technically the very first company to update their system was Nintendo with the NES.



Then Nintendo did it again with the SNES.



Not to mention the amount of Genesis variations there were.



So in a nutshell, Sony was far from the first company to do anything like this, just the most common lately, aside from the different DS' and such.

I am 100% all over this new xbox. I've been wanting a second xbox for a long time. This new design has motivated me to do it ASAP.

There really is no benefit in getting the new X-Box. Basically, everything you can do with the new one you can do with the old.

Looks awesome and sleek, has the good HD space, nice that they came out with this. I agree, not worth getting unless your Xbox is semi-broken or on its way out, but it's a cool new replacement for sure

That's not what he's saying. He's saying that Sony's being a role model in the design department. 50% of the design of the new Xbox 360 Slim came from the PS3 Phat.

1. The HDD is now enclosed on the bottom of the system, just like PS3.
2. The design has a glassy gloss that PS3 used to have.
3. The on/off button, and the eject button are both touch sensitive, just like PS3.

So, yeah. Sony IS Microsoft's role model.

I think the new 360 looks good, and an internal HDD that is plenty big enough is a welcome addition for those multimedia streaming types.

Also there are quite a lot of changes that you don't see, they constantly refine cooling, make the GPU slightly smaller (thus less heat) and update the motherboard etc. You don't notice them but these all reduce heat output and increase reliability.

Saw it, looks like a combination of the PS3 and a computer chassis. Only took them 5 years to get the Wi-Fi right.

I like how a lot more of the system is internal than external, it's got a nice sleek design and all, if you're getting a new system, PS3 (I'm saying that and I play Xbox), but if you're into Xbox, this would be like, the console to have.
