Default Microsoft hiking Xbox Live subscription prices

Beginning Nov. 1, an annual Gold membership will cost $60, up from $50. A three-month subscription will cost $25, up from $20. And a one-month subscription will be $10, up from $8. Xbox owners mainly use the service to play multiplayer games such as "Call of Duty" online.

LOL...

^^Kinect has been in the pipeline for a long time. Marketing hasn't been excessive either, so I don't see why they need to further income/ compensate losses NOW, with the busiest period of the year right around the corner.

Christmas bonuses?

That's because you're a PS3...

And that's not even what I said, I said lately. Ofc there's more 360 fanboys, it just seems that lately PS3r's are really attacking the 360.

It's probably both ways. I saw 360'ers moaning and attacking PS3'ers just because Mass Effect 2 was coming to the PS3 in a video and that's all I've really seen of fanboyism as of late.

I have both systems but I am on XBox about 99.99% of the time. I just like it better and I am not butt hurt about games going cross console. If a game is that good (Mass Effect 2 is amazing) it should be shared. With ME3 coming out it will be nice for it to go across the consoles. I don't get fandom...I like my xbox, you like the ps3 why does there have to be crap about it?

Now that we all know what u make lulz. However, I probably won't have to pay that price cause Amazon usually has it for 10 bucks cheaper. Although since I get a better experience with XBL than PSN I am willing to continue paying for it.

It's the first price hike since 2002 isn't it? It's probably due to inflation.

At any rate, Xbox Live has gotta be a nice little money spinner for Microsoft.

Jut realised the date. Only a week or so before the release of what is predicted to be one of the best selling video games ever.

Heh, strange that eh?

If anyone is looking to renew, might work out best to do it now for $40 USD before the price goes up:

Xbox.com | price lock - Renew now and save 30% off Gold

The new prices for the US are what Canadians have been paying the whole time so I hope it won't go up in Canada.
