I wonder how other nations feel about American soldiers killing their citizens.

I'm sure all the people on base are happy about this.

I'm even more sure that Activision are happy about this.

I'm actually glad to see this. I think this will take an effect in people stationed in military bases around the world. I don't know if anyone else has related to something like this, but I have definitely heard people joking around about joining the army, military, etc. and the only reason they want to is because it relates to first person shooters that they have played. I find this ridiculous, as the only reason they want to "support" the United States of America is to have yet another relation to Modern Warfare 2, Medal of Honor, Bad Company 2, etc. This is definitely something that shouldn't be joked about and needs to be taken seriously; it is a very difficult job and runs several risks, such as losing a piece of your body, taking permanent damage, or dying in the battlefield.

People who say that the only reason they want to join the military because it relates to FPS need to be castrated. Their genes need to be cut off form the worlds population. It's disrespectful to the people that join the military for greater reasons.

I know and that is one of the reasons why I think people need to take this much more seriously because a lot of people dedicate their lives to this type of thing for personal reasons, not just because they think it's like a game that they play. It's pretty sad how much some people are detached from reality.

Whilst people join the military doesn't mean they last. Boot Camp is there for a reason. The people that join for stupid reasons most likely won't survive BC. Once you go through something like that you are more a-tuned to how things really work and you develop a greater appreciation for what it is that these people do. I don't know how it all works (so I may be ignorant so if someone knows exactly how it is please let me know) but it seems to me that soldiers that are based in said bases have probably passed BC and thus have a greater respect for the "job". I would say these guys shouldn't be penalized for something like this. Granted they can still be bought off base so if they really want it they can still get it.

I couldn't find too much about Boot Camp in the United States, but it works differently for separate countries and divisions... If you'd like more information, visit this link: Recruit training - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The data in this article seems pretty accurate compared to what I know.

Basic Training varies between service branches here in the United States. The US Air Force's basic training lasts 6 and 1/2 weeks. The US Army and Navy are 8 weeks and the US Marine Corps is 13 weeks. During basic, the recruit is inducted into their perspective service branch through indoctrination. Each branch does this differently. Graduating from basic training does not mean that you can firmly handle combat, far from it in fact. Most people who join the military due to FPS, rarely make it past basic or their individual training for their particular MOS.

Those joining the army or any of its subsidiaries because they played modern warfare, and other modern games are idiots.

I know people joined because:

1. They need to gain perspective of the 'other' side of the world. They travel alot, so this is instrumental.

2. Paying the bills; and I'm not talking about those piss-poor bills, I'm talking about stuff like paying debts [I know someone has to pay more than 30k in debt] to the government, or schooling. Up to paying for an owned house [in your name].

And even if you survive and return home, you will go through a period of 'shock.' As if you've had enough of the shit. Family relatives sometimes worry about them going to wars, or returning to the wars. My point here is being a soldier isn't for the faint of heart.

Socom didn't let you blow up US convoys with Remote IEDs. Or did it?

Anyways I'm guessing Socom being endorsed by the Navy Seals and having a fictional storyline, while Medal of Honor has some pretty realistic recreations of the war in Afghanistan.

All publicity is good publicity and banning it will only make it more attractive to those being told they cannot have it time will tell on that but its a gamble EA seem willing to take

Anyone that joins the forces because of a vidio game needs a check up from the neck up I spent 15 years in a Sabre Squadron and 10 years on reserve and its no picnic and not something to be taken lightly

Now tell me this wont be on thousands of players shopping list

There is some video games that help people in the Military. Like American's Army. It suppose to help people join the Army. But I know the gameplay is unrealistic like fags bullet jump..I would laugh if a soldier did that to the enemy. The enemy would be like what the hell? You jump my bullet...
