Sup guys. It's been a little while. Anyway, I'm going to teach you the easiest way to stream in high definition quality. No BS involved. You won't have to download multiple programs, you won't have to worry about trusted software issues, obnoxious watermarks, and you most certainly won't have to worry about loss of quality.
WATCH THE VIDEO TUTORIAL HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ. Thanks. First and foremost, you must have a Hauppauge HD PVR, or a high definition capturing device that can show video preview on your screen. Fraps users can still try this, as I'm sure it would work without a problem. If you have an equivalent to the Hauppauge for consoles, this should work for you as well. Secondly, you will need a computer with decent spec's. Running the capturing device and the streaming program can use up resources together. I recommend at LEAST a Dual Core CPU, and 2 or more GB's of RAM. This can run both programs without crashing with decent smoothness. Things you'll need:
Step One: Go to LiveStream, and make an account. Step Two: Download LiveStream Procaster. This is the capturing software that will enable your stream. Don't worry, there's a built in chat window that comes with it. Step Three: Start up Procaster, ensure near the top that you set it to your account, and follow these settings. LiveStream tab, keep these two boxes checked. They ensure that your stream is activated and live at all times. Spoiler: Video tab. Source stays at "No Camera" since we are streaming with Procaster, not our webcams. Keep the target frame rate to about 23-25 FPS, and no more than 500kbps for the smoothest experience possible. Spoiler: Audio tab. Keep these the same. You can also open up audio mixer and add in another source, like Microphone so you can add live commentary as well. Just food for thought. Game and Desktop tabs stay the same, hit Save, and now hit the record button. You should get a green rectangular box. Simply move the lines over the game window, and viola, you are now streaming live to your friends. Keep in mind that your link will be livestream.com/YourStreamName. Fraps users, please try this and let me know how this works for you. Now that you can successfully stream your gaming, you can also use Procaster to stream movies, YouTube videos, even music. You can use this inside and outside of gaming. Hope it helps anyone out there. |

Wouldn't need to use fraps, since the program is streaming your desktop correct?
However, might get a significant dip in performance since you're running the game on the same machine. edit, never mind, FRAPS only records. you'd need a program like camstasia or something. Last edited by Voodoo; 11-06-2010 at 05:20 AM. |
