I havn't kept track in the game for about 1,5 years now, though with the new expansion quite a few ppl have been asking me to come back to the game.
Anyhow, I glared at some stuff quickly & it doesn't seem to interesting. Though first impressions can be misleading. So anybody who can tell me how the game is looking to be in Cataclysm from a PvP point of view (don't care about PvE at all, so spare me that ;p)? I don't feel like getting hooked up on the game again if it's as shitty as it currently looks (to me atleast). |

Hard to say how it will play out until people hit 85 but the main changes seem to be all about controlling burst damage / heals.
- Huge health pools. - Lower comparative damage (of course you'll hit harder but the ratio to the avg health pool will be a lot lower than it was before). - Lower comparative healing (mana will also be an issue and healers will have to think more in terms of efficiency... that's the intent anyway). There will be also be Rated BG's, which makes a lot more sense in a game like this than the Arena concept. TBH I'm hoping it will be the death of Arena which while fun for shits and giggles, has always been a huge restraint on class / spell design. The game as a whole is more suited towards PvE and large scale PvP. IMO most of the changes look to be good on paper, though if all you want is PvP (I'm assuming in the form of hardcore competitive Arena) I don't think it'd be worth making a comeback. |
