Spoiler:

Five easy forum rules:

Rule 1:
We are all Here to Have a Good Time - The purpose of this forum is to enable the members of the community to help each other, enhance their enjoyment of Call of Duty gaming and share their experiences.

If you are new to the forums and have questions, don’t hesitate to ask. If you are a veteran of the forum/game and see new people joining the forums, please welcome them and help them out if you can.

Rule 2:
Be Considerate - Everyone wants to have a good time on the Forums. Do not post harassing, threatening, abusive, lewd, or inflammatory comments. Flaming people, products, or organizations is never acceptable. Neither is trolling. Instead, be friendly, helpful, and supportive and the forum will be much more enjoyable for everyone. That isn’t to say you can’t talk smack or that this place is supposed to be like Sunday school. That said you are expected good judgment and don’t get carried away.

Rule 3:
Be Relevant - Please stay on topic. These Forums are provided to enable members to help each other in sharing their passion for the game. Please refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or product, or, in general, from posting in a manner unrelated to the direct purposes expected in the Forums.

Rule 4:
Don’t Break the Law - Do not make any unlawful, libelous, defamatory posts, or posts that infringe upon any intellectual property rights. Do not conduct any activity that may be illegal, or harmful in any way, to people, to software or hardware, such as hacking, flooding scripts viruses or Trojan horses. This also goes for references to any 'warez', cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content! Links to content of a questionable nature, asking for, offering, or asking for help/helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated.

Rule 5:
Don’t Spam – Do not use the forums in any way to promote third party services, products, websites, or organizations

Full Forum rules - A complete list of all the stated forum rules. Subject to change without notification.

User Control Panel

This is where you control your profile, account and it's settings. For name changes, contact an administrator (currently abc) Add information that will show up next to your posts like your PSN, XBL or Steam ID or upload avatars, signatures and configure email subscription settings.

Reporting posts

Found something that clearly breaks a rule or something that insults you? Press the report button, located at the bottom left of EVERY post. As well as posts you can report PMs, user messages on your profile and discussions on MW2 Group pages. Specific info:
  • Pressing report sends a report to all moderators. They will then read the report and take action if neccessary.
  • Reports are anonymous to the poster, iIf you report a post made by Mr Blogs he will not know.
  • You don't have to be certain or read the rules and decide yourself, that's what moderators are for. If you're not sure then just report it.

Private Messaging

To private message any member (e.g. a moderator if you've a question about the forum) Either:
[list][*] Click quick links (near the top of every page, just under the banner) > private messages > send new message (on the left hand side menu) then enter their name, title & message.[*] OR go to their forum profile and click send message > send a private message to ____ [*] OR if viewing a post click their name > send a private message

Search feature

"Search" on some forums is useless, but with the latest versions of vBulletin (our forum software) the search function actually works very well.

Call of Duty Frequently Asked Questions

One really useful bit of our forum is the FAQ section. This can be used for all those quick little questions like "how do I get ___ title?" where a short answer is needed quickly. The best bit though is the FAQ compilation topic - a really quick place to find answers to all the most common questions!

--------------------------------------------------------

Some quite nifty features you may not know about

Spoiler:

vBulletin Guide - This is very good. vB (the people who made the software) have written a complete guide on how to use all of it's features from posting to RSS to security.

Social groups - A bit like those groups on facebook. These are great for meeting and talking to like minded people. There are groups for PC gamers, graphics/art enthusiasts and many clans have their own group here used for discussion and recruitment.

New Posts link - rather than browsing the forum many people like to just read the hottest & latest topics so click "new posts" on the bar menu right beneath the website's banner.

BB code list - A complete guide to all the BB code our forum supports from basics like bold, italics and underline to embedding youtube videos, raw HTML code and advanced lists.

Smilies list - a big list of all our smilies and the BB code and how to use them

Gallery - Hopefully one day this will be full of some really useful MW2 imagery for use in sigs, montages, wallpapers etc If you want to upload pictures this is a really good alternative to something like imageshack. It gets upload to this server so it'll be faster than image shack and it saves all images in folders on your profile - convinient for future use. Oh and unlike imageshack it just gives you one link to post the image in the forum, not 8 different ones for different types of software!

Competitions App - Hosting a competition or league? Use this app to advertise it, recruit players and manage times/dates/locations etc!

"What You See Is What You Get" Editor - Find it annoying when writing posts that end up looking like [u][b]this[/b][/u] with weird [size=3][code]tags[/code][/size] everywhere when all you want is something to be in  [color="red"]red?[/color] The WYSIWYG editor is made for you. It's just like using MS word or any other text proccessor, you type highlight a word, click "bold" and it appears bold instead of [b]bold[/b] Scroll down to the bottom of your "edit settings" page on your user CP to switch editting modes!

Multi Quote - Annoying when you want to quote more than one person and you have to juggle around with copy/pasting and BB tags? Worry no longer... Press the multiquote button for each post you wish to quote, then just press as normal to get lots of quotes in one post!

--------------------------------------------------------

Moderators, Problems and Account Changes

Spoiler:

Spam/insults/flame - If you have a problem with a particular post, report it using the report button

Display Name changes - make a new topic and request one in site feedback

Found something broken - a link or subforum not working? let us know in site feedback

Posts/threads gone missing? - It is possible that if a post breaks a rule or if it's in the wrong section it will be moved or deleted. We are proud to say that our moderators work very hard behind the scenes to keep this place as clean as it is. Unfortunately in busy periods moderators won't have time to notify you of posts/threads that have been moved/deleted. However if you ASK us, we will be more than happy to look into it and provide the reason/location of a deleted/moved post.

If all else fails - personal message a moderator or an administrator (currently abc) We are always very willing to hear feedback, suggestions or answer any questions about the forum.

However please respect our time and privacy. Especially if it's a question (such as how to get the game to work) everyone thinks their own topic is the most "urgent" thing in the world. If you do choose to PM a moderator asking for us to reply to you "why doesn't COD work" or whatever question "ASAP" be extremely polite...

Again, let me stress that we are always willing to answer questions about the forum and make your browsing as enjoyable as possible. I also accept sometimes users will recommend that you PM us if we are particularly knowledgable about an aspect of COD but if you do PM us "can u read ma thread asap its urgent kthxbai" please do it extremely politely.

P.S. We really like to see our members get involved because afterall, the forum is here for your enjoyment. Whether you'd like to organise a FFA tournament with our help or whether you'd like to do something smalled such as a "Poll Of The Week" we'd love to hear from you so feel free to PM a moderator or an Admin!

This is getting repetitive.
