Default Hardcore - anyone else a fan?

I love hardcore music. By hardcore I mean anything including, but not limited to: death metal, deathcore, metalcore, post-hardcore, symphonic death/black metal, etc.

Here are some of my favorites.

Nope.

When I looked at the thread title, I though this was going to be about the HC game type in MW2. Then I saw it was in Media Discussion.

You were doing well with those spoilers until Enter Shikari showed up. damn.
When you say symphonic metal, are you a fan of Dimmu Borgir? They're a brilliant mix of black metal + orchestration.
Early Nightwish as well (a lot less heavy though), before they sacked their opera singer in favour of some shit pop star.

OH DAMN DIMMU BORGIR IS THE BEST! I also like Cradle of Filth, Behemoth, and basically any other really heavy black or melodic metal that comes up on Last.fm

Im also really into techno and house. Stuff like Vitalic, Felix, and Chewy Chocolate Cookies is amazing.

What do you got against against Enter Shikari? Take to the Skies is a good album, though, I have to admit Common Dreads isn't that good.

I'm not really a fan of Cradle of Filth. It really saddens me that my favorite pianist in metal, Ashley Ellyllon (avatar), left Abigail Williams for CoF. She makes great music, but no longer for a good band (in my opinion).

CoF isnt that amazing, but Dani's vocals are really crap. They put so much synth over it. I heard a concert version of one of their songs and he was terrible. Metal pianists/keyboardists are the greatest people cuz they are usually classically trained, and they can incorporate those techniques into the metal, really changing the overall sound.

Apocalyptica is cool for this reason. They do metal covers, but they are comprised of a classical string group (like violins and shizz).

Have you ever seen children of bodom live? Their keyboard player plays solos at least as fast as any guitarist and it just looks amazing. He even has the keyboard on a special stand so he can flip it towards the crowd so you can see what he's doing.
@ Pyro - sorry, I just don't like the type of metal Enter Shikari do. I am a massive metal fan but for some reason I have a weird hatred for certain types, I somehow feel they let the genre down. Others I would class in the same league are bands like Bullet for My Valentine, Lost Prophets, that sort of thing. I guess a lot of that would come under the "emo" banner but not all.
I just this weekend got into Norther - more Finnish metal alond the lines of Bodom. Christ they're good, worth checking out but for some reason difficult to get hold of in the UK.
