Since MW2, I've been getting back into war/army movies lately. To me, Navy Seals is the closest movie I can think of that resembles MW2. Its a bit dated, but still very good. Black Hawk Down is pretty good too. What movies remind you of MW2?

Gamer, if you haven't watched it. get it. It isn't the greatest film by any means but the first 15mins are MW2 multiplayer. Even to shooting through the ceiling to hit someone, there are other bits in the film like it but anybody who plays MW2 should laugh at how similar the two are.

Which one. I have the First Blood Knife and the Rambo First blood part II knife. The third one i stayed away from (it's fcking huge). Don't know if there is one from the 4th film.

It's impossible to find actors that can act as utter retardes to such an extent, the laws of physics more or less work on war films, I never seen a movie featuring Host Migration between firefights, oh and it is very awkward to watch every frame of a movie 0.5 secs after it actually happened.

Can't think of anything remotely similar.

Blackhawk Down is very similar to MW closer to MW1 with the chopper rescue but yeah. The new movie with Matt Damon looks like it could be a potential but I haven't seen it yet so I can't comment.

If you're referring to Green Zone, its a tiny bit similar to Modern Warfare. Its about searching for WMD's, although the movie goes all conspiratorial and blames the government for that. It's set in the early Iraq War, so the guns aren't the same versions as in MW - ie. they have earlier versions of the M4. But they do feature the SAW, M16 with an M203, and possible the M40, although I couldn't tell.

I think Gamer, Black Hawk Down, and Rambo very much resemble Modern Warfare 2.

I think some people in this thread are getting confused between a film that has a similar plot and films which have the same colour scenery...

Plot wise I can't think of anything that is, broadly speaking, a UN backed Russia invading the USA whilst Spec Forces hunt down the terrorist group that framed the USA. Most films with spec forces are about killing a terrorist before they launch a nuke they stole in order to start WW3 to profit from the oil mining empire they own yada yada (that's the plot of virtually all Bond films. Until the oil mining bit that actually sounded a tad like COD4)

All Black Hawk Down shares with any COD game is similar weaponary (modern US army/navy weapons & tech) and one mission in MW2 is in an arid middle-east town. BHD was an entire film about one massive capture or kill raid carried out by a mass of special forces & the two helicopter crashes that followed.

I agree there are loads of film-shared moments. COD4's "we have a cobra down, I repeat we have a cobra down" could not have been more obviously borrowed from black hawk down if they tried. COD2's russian campaign shared a lot of similarities in the missions with Enemy At The Gates, so two did a certain "vendetta" mission in COD: WaW.

Just watched The Expendables. The film is not like MW2 at all really but there is one scene in which Terry Crewes has an AA12. It reminded me a lot of playing MW2. I won't spoil the details, but it is worth seeing that clip.
