wohh dude ! sorry but that is not the way to use a riot shield at all ... my best game with the riot shield tdm 26 - 0 - 4 and funniest domination 25 - 24 - 21 ( kills - assists - deaths )

1st of all you shouldn't use the shield as a weapon, it takes two hits to kill ... and exposes your body.

2nd a throwing knife is hard to get kills, its much better to use C4 with the perks scavenger pro, danger close pro, this will allow you to have a never ending supply of C4 and give your c4 more damage. Especially on HQ and with campers, and i will let you into a little secret you can detonate the C4 while staying behind your shield ( double tapping reload or square on ps3 and X on Xbox if on default settings )

finally best side arm to uses is not shot guns thumpers or any thing like that, best to use a pistol with tactical knife, because when you switch weapon your pistol will come out straight away and your close enough to stab the person with commando pro on. and most importantly they won't be expecting this ...

If you semtex their shield, they can just switch to their secondary and shoot you as you run away.

And the riot shield is great for planting bombs. I was once planting a bomb in 3rd person team tac, and a guy came up behind me and kept trying to knife me, but I kept turning and blocking every single knife. It was really funny.

Another thing you can do is go prone with the riot shield and plant a bomb using 10 sensitivity and just spin around as fast as you can because it makes you hard to kill and it looks really funny.

But they will still die. Only way to avoid is if the person drops the shield to pick up another weapon on the ground before Semtex blows up, and even then run the risk of still dying.

True, but I think his point was that you can still kill the guy who stuck you so its not exactly a "free" kill in the sense that you still died as well. Although most people wouldn't be able to whip out a secondary in time...

yep. shield+blast shield prevents a semtex stick from killing you (If your at full health)

Activate Blast Shield and when you see someone(usually from behind) throw a stun grenade to slow them, then charge and smack em twice and then Scavenge them for more Stun Grenades. Then Repeat.

Has anyone ever noticed that when you are confronting a person while using the shield, that even though on your screen you are facing them, but you end up getting knifed? That happens to me whenever I use it. Haha

i find the C4/danger close combo is good because you can double tap for the C4 explosion and not expose urself to gunfire

Ok here's how I play with riot shield.
Perks- marathon, lightweight, commando
deathstreak- martyrdom, while they think they finally got me, I get my revenge / last stand good for capturing points in domination, if you kill them and get hurt
items- blast shield, stun grenade, pistol(trying to get tactical knife)

I run up to them stun grenade then double bash. Find good points where it's crowded so they can't knife you. Blast shield will protct you from your stun grenade. If they flash bang you walk backwards slowly until you can see. They tend to keep aiming at you while your dazed so they won't catch upto you if you walk backwards. Some guys try to run and jump shoot you if you're crouching down rather than going for the legs. So be prepared to smash upwards at them. Lately people have been using One Man Army with grenade launchers with Danger Close so it's an instant death even with blast shield.

Other variations I am trying is scavenger with claymores. You can stick multiple claymores around you as well as behind you. Lure the guys in and as they come charging walk backwards to setup claymore trap. Also I've killed people close range by sticking claymore at there feet while we are close range fighting. Once you stick one down, your shield will pop right up and protect you from the blast.

Some suggest using shotguns and launchers, but they are too slow at switching and firing ie thumpers.

Throwing knives seem a little difficult I think I might be better to stun grenade and then throw in a cooked grenade.

It's hilarious to see guys turn a corner and just stop in their tracks and not know what to do. They either shoot and waste their clips then get get stunned and smashed to death while they try to reload. Or they wait, and I rush up and stun them and smash them.

Tips about smashing. Usually you have blast shield up but once you get close enough you don't need it so flip it open for you to have better vision. If you smash him once and lose track of him because you can't see due to you shield being cracked, drop a stun grenade and it will slow him down. If I had tactical knife I would switch to that also.

pfffhahah u guys using riot shields?^^ i really love the enemys on servers which are using riot shields...they think, they are immortal...then i do my special trickjump-knife-action and the riotshield-user is dead and then the textchat: "whaaaat?? how u could kill me?? thats impossible whaaaatt??"
