If you get stuck a way to survive is bash your shield in a wall when its gonna explode. Since most people stick you and run you wont be vulnerable when doing so. Personally i use throwing knifes with shield for a fast kill with it and most people stop moving and shooting after a while when they see you. They'll try to use a semtex and just as he's about to do so kill him with the knife. I use marathon, lightweight and commando with a riot shield and usually i go with raffica ext mags or pistol tact knife. The riot shield is best used when your teaming up with your friend so you can rack up assists.
also, there is an odd glitch where you can be knifed trough the shield, to avoid it, run towards the guy, crouch and melee at the same time, doing so your shield will be aimed directly at the ennemy so he wont be able to shoot or melee you. Also get back after each hits or he might knife you to the side. If he throws a stun at you head directly in front of it so your shield will protect you from its effect. The only thing that can kill you easily is rockets and noob tubes.
