Default MW2 Damage Charts for Dummies
MW2 Damage Charts

A while ago I posted some damage charts, but they never really went anywhere, so i decided to post some new ones. These are extremely simplified and include
  • Damage
  • Shots To Kill
  • Normal and Hardcore
  • With and Without Stopping Power
  • Damage per Second
  • Time to Kill

For Everything, it is written as

close range - long range

so here is how it works
For Damage.
  • 30-20 | 30 represents the close range damage, this is pretty much anywhere within ninja kill range
  • 30-20 | 20 represents the damage the weapon will do at long range, which is the damage the weapon will do at its longshot range and farther
  • The same thing holds true for other stats. The only things that do not follow this rule, are sniper rifles and light machine guns. They have no damage fallout, but they do less damage while silenced. So their damage is written as unsilenced-silenced.
  • Silencers affect the distance at which damage begins to decrease, but not the actual damage
  • Normally shooting through surfaces multiplies the damage by 0.4
  • With FMJ that damage is increased to 0.6
At the end of that are pictures of all of the maps.

Great link! Yes, I am capable of interpretting the more complicated charts for example on Den Kirson's site, but putting damage in terms of "shots to kill" is a great idea for people who are new to the game and maybe haven't quite picked up the inner workings of the damage system that COD games use yet.

Not a bad chart. I find the one from Modern Warfare 2 | DenKirson on Xanga easier to read imo. Still pretty good since you get a look at everything at once per gun type.
