Exclamation sick of cheaters

I am sick of hacks and cheaters, i think these r the dicks that become politicians, no practical skills or abilities, just straight up lazy cheaters.

i'm sick of them too. If you play MW2 you shouldn't be surprised, they've overtaken the game, at least on PS3. Get Blops if don't like cheaters, or play something different altogether.

Haven't looked back since November 9th, and frankly I'm a bit afraid to. Really the only people who would still play MW2 are OMALOLers, hackers and quickscopers.

Tried getting on my ps3 today, ended up with colored classes, 10th prestige, all unlocks, insane sleight of hand(insta-zoom), and ranked 49k on score boards for kills.

Nothing is ever going to get fixed on MW2 so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

It's not just mw2. Someone cracked the ps3, they are going to get in trouble.

Red face Re: sick of cheaters

switched to black ops today no cheaters so that doesn't suck, but now i suck, these maps r large compared to MW2, i keep getting lost except for nuke-town where the only thing getting nuked is me.

^Lol. You'll get used to it eventually. It always takes a while with the maps, but the thing that threw me the most was the lack of stopping power.

Put pressure on SCEA and Activision to get this fixed.

Here's what Infinity Ward (Activision) says

Update: I just left a security meeting with the coders here at Infinity Ward where we discussed a lot of solutions. I feel good about the meeting, but of course I can't go into detail on the possible solutions we discussed as we don't want to give out any information that could potentially hinder the security any further.

Once I have more information, I will post it here.

The key factor I want you to know is, that while any update takes time, we are looking to make the process as quick as possible and nothing is being left unattended.

Our main focus right now is on:

1) Preventing hackers from affecting legitimate players.
2) Addressing users who have already been affected.

Original Post:

Sony has recently acknowledged a breach in security on the PS3 which has resulted in the hardware and its games to become exposed to exploits and hacks. Modern Warfare 2 is no exception to this security exploit and we understand that some of you have experienced problems with stats and other issues associated with this.

Report Inappropriate Players to Sony

Games rely on the security of the encryption on the platforms they're played on, therefore; updates to the game through patches will not resolve this problem completely, unless the security exploit itself is resolved on the platform. However, that doesn't mean we're not going to look into every option available to us. Regretfully, Call of Duty games are receiving the bulk of the hacker's attention, due to its high player counts and popularity. However, the number of legitimate players severely outweighs the bad apples.

If you are concerned about playing with players who are hacking, I encourage you to play exclusively with friends by utilizing the party or private match options in Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty 4 to avoid such players as much as possible until this issue is resolved by Sony.

At this time, we do not have the ability to restore or adjust individual stats.

Let me assure you, while we are very reliant on Sony updating their firmware and security to address the core problem of this issue. We are looking at EVERY option available to us to help any user affected.

This only applies to legacy games such as Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2. In the future we plan to adjust our approach to not rely solely on platform security and reduce the ability for this to happen in our games, as has already been displayed by the work Treyarch has done on Call of Duty: Black Ops to prevent similar measures.Infinity Ward | Creative Strategist
@fourzerotwo on Twitter

Why doesn't Black Op's have the security issue?
Kinda makes you wonder if they knew this was coming...

I told both Activision and SCEA I want a refund if this issue isn't resolved.

Activision:
Response (Christian Avila) - 01/24/2011 11:05 AM
Hello Clayton,

Thank you for contacting Activision Technical Support, we apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing.

Ever since the security breach of the Playstation 3 we have seen an increase in people hacking and modifying lobbies for this game. The security breach allows anyone with enough time and knowledge to modify pretty much any game they want. We are aware of these issues as well as the developers of the game but at this time we do not have any additional information beyond that. Here is the statement from Infinity Ward:

Infinity Ward

The only suggestions I can give you is to create a new account and start private matches with only your friends. We also cannot change any stats/ranks/achievements etc. because we have no access to that information. We do apologize greatly for the inconvenience.

As to whether any personal information may have been exposed to hackers I really can't say. Most of the hacks or mods that are out there only effect the game data itself and as far as I know do not give access to personal information. I would suggest removing any information from your account that you do not want anyone to know.

Refunds will have to be taken up with the original place of purchase, we are strictly the publishers of the game and cannot refund or reimburse.

If you have any further questions please contact us again.

SCEA:
Hello Clayton,

We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced while participating on the PlayStation(R)Network and playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Please be aware that Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and Activision are aware of the situation and are working on a resolution. SCEA does not condone, endorse, or suggest any modifications to our products. Unfortunately, (SCEA) does not accept return merchandise purchased from retailers. Additionally, we do not offer refunds for purchased PlayStation(R)Network content.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and really appreciate your support and dedication to the Playstation family of products.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Regards,
Jason F.

I guess all sales are final, AS IS, well if I new this B.S. was going to happen I would've never forked out extra doh on MAP PACKS

Try a rather new game: Homefront.

It's much like BBC2, but without the hackers, its not as well known which I reckon as good.

It's not out until March. BC2 doesn't have hackers either.

I've been playing MW2 fairly regularly since about, oh, late December, early January. I have hardly seen any hackers. I play on the PC, so that may have something to do with it. I haven't seen any hackers on Blops, either, but I haven't played that as much.
