Hey guys I need help on MW2 really badly! Can anyone make class suggestions or ask for my gamertag and do 1V1 in private match for tips and stuff. I've been playing for over a year and i still have never gotten anything higher than 5 killstreak (with hardline) my KD ratio is 0.44. So please help

In most core modes on virtually any map a beginner or struggling but reasonably experienced player can't go far wrong with an assault rifle.
Something like
Scar-H, Tar-21 or even AK-47.
Try to learn the ironsights (all these are easy ones) so you can free-up something other than scope + something else + bling.

Scar-H w/silencer
Any secondary
Scavenger Pro
Stopping Power Pro
Ninja Pro

Tar-21 w/silencer
Any secondary
Sleight of Hand Pro or Scavenger Pro
Stopping Power Pro
Ninja Pro

AK-47 (no attachment because it causes sway)
Any secondary
Sleight of Hand Pro or Scavenger Pro
Stopping Power Pro
Ninja Pro

That may seem simplistic as hell, but I think K.I.S.S is the key if you struggle. All these classes will drop enemies in a hurry. 2 or 3 shots max.
Stinger as a secondary is great if those pesky air supports get on your nerves.

Marathon Pro
Cold-Blooded Pro
Ninja Pro

can be a lot of fun, but is apparently cheesey beyond belief.

Killstreaks. Again keep it easy & use mostly A.I ones, so you can concentrate on keeping on the move.
I use
Predator Missile - 5 kills
Harrier Strike - 7 kills
Pave Low - 9 kills
& you should regularly get 20+ kills per game after a while, finishing either 1st or 2nd in TDM for instance.

Also check out our Guides section. I would suggest using 3-4-5 KS setup until you are confident in your ability to get a good killstreak going.

I was the same. It took me along time to find the right setups for me.

Now I am getting into classes where I forego the nube tube, and concentrate on aiming skills. I'm on 7th prestige and only 3 of my 9 classes have tubes (it used to be all of them), the rest are now arguably more fun. I still resort to the tube when in a lobby with lots of other tubers, because it helps me clear and hold flags when playing dom.
When playing TDM, I rarely (if ever) use a tube now.

My KDR now is probably up around 1.5:1 or 2:1 average. But the first few prestiges of horrible KDR's, still has me at 5:8 overall. However, I still love Dom the most, and play way too aggressively in wanting to grab flags. Granted my team will win more than lose because of this, but at the cost of a better KDR. I tend to end up with 1:1 KDR in those aggressive cases, yet garnering about 20-25kills/deaths..

Keep in mind, it's not just the class that affects your killing ability. In my case, I fiddled with my mouse DPI settings for quite a while until I got better at aiming. Sometimes having it set a little too high or low depending on your reflexes can be a HUGE factor.

Odd as sounds, I have also found beer and whiskey sours to be a perfect gaming beverage. In my case, I get very jittery when trying very hard to do well. I have an uncontrollable competitive streak in me, and thus my nerves get shakey and my aiming actually gets worse from trying too hard and I get fatigued.

Believe it or not, the beer/whiskey keeps me calm, and the nerves steady. My movement gets much more smooth, and aiming more relaxed and precised. Also, when I die, it gives a chance to take a quick swig before respawning.

Just don't drink too much. If you get drunk, you can't perform, in the game or in the bedroom (bedroom most important). If you get drunk to the point where you barf on your keyboard, you may have had a little too much. You may also end up needing a new keyboard.

If you are under age or just don't drink, disregard everything I said, with exception to adjsuting your mouse DPI.

You shouldn't worry too much on being good, just have fun.

I was in a game with some friends, and then we had the brilliant idea to sit in the back of the map(all 6 of us in snd) and dance until someone killed us. To my surprise, this was more fun than actually playing. We all were rolling with laughter as someone came in and sprayed us down with his barrett.

So my suggestion: forget k/d. It's a number. The game is about having fun. Grab some friends, do stupid shit in SnD pub/private.

As for classes, I'd check the guide section.

The Scar-H, Tar-21, and the ak-47 are three of my most used guns and favorites but i have never considered using stopping power on either of those 3 because they usually bring down enemies fairly quickly, i should try it though. The only gun i have the silencer for is the M16A4 which i really like with the M1014/grip as a secondary i never even see that many people use that shotgun. And whenever i die i get really pissed off and loose my cool and get nervous when going for an airdrop with hardline only 3 kills and i hardly ever get it. I really like the scavenger perk i didnt use to use it that much until i watched this video on youtube with a guy playing a FFA on skidrow and he was just camping in thr building with the turret and placing claymores in both entrances and just kept placing them in the same spot sure enough people kept running into them lol. So i try that technique whenever i get the chance. I'm a big time camper but i suck at it. I camp on every map except rust obviously. Tips on camping would be nice if someone would. As for my reflexes aim , there terrible I could see a guy a few seconds before he sees me and i still die. I even run up on enemies and everytime its an easy melee attack but i knife to early and die. I currently have my sensitivity set on 2 or 3, i dont know if setting it higher would improve my aiming like i said im really slow to aim and sleight of hand doesnt seem to help and just cant make easy shots. But thank you guys for posting on this ill try everything and see if it works. Also one of my buddies told me to change my button layout to tactical its actually kinda better, just cant get used to the right stick and B button change it throws me off.

I'm mainly a PC player so I can't help you with button layout. However, whenever I play CoD on a dif platform I ALWAYS turn the sensitivity all the way up. It makes it easier to spin when you hear someone coming up from behind you.

If you have problems with knifing too early, use commando.

Andrew. You're making a mistake going for hardline instead of stopping power. A 1-bullet kill difference in mid or close range should make a big impact on your game. The AK-47 setup I gave earlier is a beast. Just set your killstreaks lower, make a conscious effort not to camp & you'll be fine.

So AK-47 with no attachment even when i unlock the silencer? My only dislike about that gun is the up and down movements of the sights while shooting. It's a good good gun though. Thank you. I'll probably get on right now and try lol.

I personally go all-out with the AK, but adding a silencer is fair enough. With stopping power don't try to be ultra-precise. When your sights swing around to the enemy in middle or close range start spraying just before they are about to reach the target, rather than aiming & then firing a burst when your sights are already on the opponent. You shouldn't have to worry about a bit of recoil in this case.

Damn, the AK with stopping power is beast! I played mostly FFA's with it but got over 10 kills 4 straight games with one of the games going 16-0-15! Me getting more than 6 or 7 kills is rare in any game mode. I also Got a few airdrops with it. I just need to use it in TDM more.

If you are struggling to get a good game and really want good scores, I would actually suggest camping on domination. Normally I don't endorse this, but it seems it would be good to get you started.

When I first started playing I thought I was incredible when I got 8-20, now my usual game in FFA is 30-3 and SnD is 12-2 or so.

I started camping in domination and slowly my K/D began to rise. By the time I switched to computer I had my tactics down to where I was going positive every game.

Just keep at it and you will notice your scores starting to improve.

As a fellow negative-KDR guy, I feel for you. (0.62 in MW2)

There are a few strategies to try if you are struggling. One is the "commando knife" class that is even one of the preset classes, First Recon I think it's called. While it is very annoying, it is easy to get kills if you know your way around a map.

Otherwise it's hard to go wrong with the SPAS 12 with Ext. Mags. If you are using a shotgun the SPAS should be your go-to shotgun. Don't underestimate it's range, it's insane. Obv you can't snipe with it but I'd say up to 20m/66 feet it's effective for a 1-shot kill. Remember, shoot, and if you miss, hide while the bullet rechambers, and then shoot again.

If you are having success with the AK47 I suggest the TAR-21, same damage and similar recoil pattern but higher ROF and much better irons. It's statistically the best AR, if not the best fully auto weapon all-round in the game. Plus no idle sway

This class tears it up in maps like Skidrow where there are lots of hallways. It's a decent rushing class, and it's a great medium range class as well. If you are a camper I would suggest silencing the TAR and switching the Semtex out for claymores. That was my Search class but I imagine it'll do just as well in a campy situation. If you are more of a long range guy I'd check out the ACR because it has no recoil. It's damage is not that great though, so keep the SPAS handy in CQC situations.

Also, different guns work for different people. If the AK works better for you than the TAR or the ACR, then by all means use it.

Finally, just keep at it, watch videos of people here (Imunality, dhoop, pantstofry, Fandom Ruck, etc) and try to learn from them. You'll never get better if you give in

I just went 1-26 in a FFA with the AK-47. I don't know what the hell i was doing wrong, got killed by 4 predator missiles, 3 harrier bombs, and died about 5-6 times from a pavelow. I was getting spawn killed left and right and couldnt take any shots what so ever.

If you're over level 30, always have a preset with an LMG and a Stinger, as well has Cold-Blooded. Change to it whenever a harrier, CG, etc comes out (don't bother with UAV's) and almost every aircraft can be taken down with the 2 rockets they give you. Just lock on and fire.

I Think I was just playing a bad game. My eyes were getting tired, I have glasses but never wear them probably should lol. If this will help you guys bet of able to give more tips/suggestions for class setups or anything else , i'm 10th prestige level 70 (via 10th lobby like alot of people) so I have all guns and perks. Just don't have the attachments I wish I had for some of the guns.

OT: Something you could try is 'ghosting'. You might be good at it. Basically, you make a class that makes you completely invisible on radar and to killstreaks.

Here's the on I currently use:

Mp5k-Silenced/Rapid Fire(it's like having stopping power)
Usp .45-Silenced/Tac knife(can use any secondary though, have it silenced)

Throwing Knife
Smoke(quite useful)

Bling Pro
Cold Blooded Pro
Ninja Pro

If you're just starting, switch out mp5k for ump.

Remember not to run outside if they have air support and you don't have cold blooded. You almost always will die, unless you have a wall in between you and the aircraft. That wont work against AC130s and choppers though.

I agree with having a stinger / coldblooded class always, but there's not much point in using a LMG. I use a UMP because it isn't affected much by the loss of stopping power.

Also, I would stick with the standard button layout. You shouldn't try drop shotting if you can't even aim well in the first place. The fast knife will help you get kills though. In fact, I recently switched from tactical to standard, just because I find the knife more useful.

Basically you just need to play the game more, and you will get better naturally.

Oh and don't use the throwing knife. That isn't really reliable equipment. It is more just for fun.

^ I put LMG for the amounts of ammo it gives you. The way LMG's are structured, you almost don't need a secondary. I always did well with the RPD and Stinger.

Ok i'm just going to stick with the AK-47, ACR, Tar-21, Scar-H, And M16A4 Which I currently have silenced. I Actually find all of the assult rifles useful except for the FAL and F2000 Which i've never even used. I also find Hardcore TDM Pretty fun, But with stopping power on all of my assult rifle classes makes them all 1 bullet kills lol.

For team matches, I use a stinger as a secondary.
In FFA, I'd use a silenced M93 Raffica.

Provided you avoid camping for too long, you should get quite a few kills with this setup.

Train yourself in the ways of 3-shot bursts, then go bananas with the famas/m16. always use stopping power if you're having a hard time killing people, especially head on - this'll let you kill most players with one burst, and be done with it. Takes a little getting used to, but once you get in the rhythm of it, it's quite easy to take people down.

Ok. I also have a question for whoever can answer this best. I currently have my M41A4, AK-47, M16A4, and Scar-H all silenced. I basically wanna know that if you put a silencer on any gun not just the ones I have silenced, I notice It takes quite a chunk out of the range of the gun. What I wanna know is; does putting a silencer on a gun affect not only its range but it's DAMAGE also? If it does affect the guns damage, with stopping power on all of my classes I should still be fine i'm guessing. I'm just curious about that.
