I've heard alot of buzz, especially on YouTube, about IW's skeleton crew comning out with a new patch to be released soon. Possibly next week (2/22/11 rumor). Apparently, it is a mutli-platform patch, but for mainly the PS3, (since it is God awefully ruined with hackers).

I guess it is a security patch to stop all the hacks.

I personally play on PC (because it's the most competitive, and best graphics), but have notice lately that I have been getting raped by alot of walling hacks that have going on. It's to the point where I run behind a major pillar (like on the terminal map), but still get nailed by some noob with a single shot burst. This never happened before. FMJ isn't THAT good.

Another example is when I run into a building with heavy walls (like on Favela), yet get killed deep inside the building when it's impossible to know exactly where I am. I can see the odd lucky shot (I get them too), but this is getting obvious.

Best of all, is when you use a riot shield, and crouch, yet the guy directly in front of you shoots you right in the middle of your shiled with a UMP, and kills you in one quick burst. Wonder how that happens? I went through a whole game once with a guy who did that. It got blatantly obvious.

I guess what I'm asking is what have you all heard about this latest patch?

What will it specifically fix? Walling? prevent Aimbotting? Prevent Killstreak hacks?

Any real info?

I've not heard anything about a patch. IW forums might be a good place to snoop around. As far as the issues on PC, that shit will never go away. VAC is a terrible cheat detector so if you find yourself in a game with hackers, just leave and find a new lobby.

That's normally what I do. Only to find myself in another lobby with another hacker.

btw, how've ya been? I haven't been on this site for a while. Been playing games.

Knowing IW, this patch will be an epic fail. Playing on my friends PS3 makes me want to cry. If that's any indication of how things are on PC, then i dunno how you guys do it. I feel like this isn't going to change much.

Nope. Granted PC is known as the best experience, at least right now anyway. PS3 has been inundated with hackers, and from what I hear is almost unplayable now. I really feel sorry for them. Spend all that money for a game, and it turn into a circus. Luckily, PC tends to gravitate to an older and more mature group (not always, key word "tends"), that wants to have a more legit environment.

That said, I have noticed it's been getting steadily worse as of late. I hope they can do something about it.

As far as I can tell the patch is mainly a security one to help stop the hacks on PS3. They might implement some of the changes on other platforms as well, whether it'll help or not is unknown.

Also, they're fixing the Fuel rock glitch... finally. So that is another reason it's coming out on all 3 platforms.

Yeah. I'd like to play on PC, but I don't have one anyway... I was just thinking that if it got that bad on PS3 then it must be terrible on PC... I know PC isn't always hax everywhere but I was curious

And here in lies one of the biggest problems.

If you had a server browser, like, say virtually all other PC games, you could cycle through till you find one without a cheater whereas IWnet just rotates you between the 3 "best" (according to 402 - the person paid to pass on BS via twitter) lobbies, thus you just get the same cheaters again.

This will be exactly the same on PS3, except there genuinly sounds as if there is more hacking going on in the PS3 community atm than the PC community.

Point in case, on PC there are more non-hacked-lobbies and more wallhacker-free lobbies than those with either of those two.


As for the patch, it's been said for a while that it's tailored towards the PS3. Even if it does do something for the PC, I'm sure someone will get around it soon enough since VAC is so useless.

PS3 is so terrible atm. Honestly, every game I joined was either obviously hacked... or I had to waste time getting killed 3 times before I realized the guy had a OHK secondary or some shit
