I usually play on low sensitivity, and im pretty good with that, but i wanted to try 10 sensitivity, but it moves too fast and can get a little confusing.I was wondering were there any thumb techniques,or any kind for that matter

Don't go from 1 to 10, build your way up slowly.

Try increasing your sensitivity in increments, that way you are not just jumping from one extreme to another. As far as thumb techniques go, I have no idea as I play on PC, but logic would dictate that whatever is most comfortable would be what you want to do, or keep doing.
EDIT: Damn ninja'd |

I actually went directly from 5 sensitivity to 10 sensitivity.
You're first few games WILL suck, there isn't a way to get around that. If you are usually fast at getting used to things, keep trying. Though honestly, most people aren't. Slowly work your way up. Go from 4 to 6 to 7 to 9 to 10. |

As the other people said, going from 1 or 2 to 10 is going to cause problems. Going up in increments of 2 is how I learned. Once you get comfortable, up the ante a little. It takes a few days to get comfortable to a sensitivity but playing on 8/9/10 is worth it IMO. Of course sometimes it is impossible for someone to get comfortable with a sensitivity even with these steps. Bigger TV's feel like they move faster, in my experience, and on my old 19" CRT I had to play on 10. Now that I have a LCD TV I play on 8 because 10 felt too fast.
The main advantage of high sensitivity is the ability to swivel faster to react to people who are flanking you. However this also means that you will be a lot less accurate when you are ADSing and trying to kill someone at long range. Try smaller, smoother movements on the joypad instead of large jerky movements. There are also thumb thingies that go on the analog sticks called "FPS Freaks" that are supposed to help with that. They are cheap at 10 dollars, but not I nor anyone I know have them, so I can't tell you how well they work. It's worth a shot though.

I went to 10 sensitivity screwing around on a private match in MW2, then went to pubs, forgetting i had it so high. After a while I lowered it to 8, so sometimes jumping can reward you, especially if you forget you have it on 10

Maybe, but it kind of depends. I'd assume it would, but just try things out. Playing on 10 isn't for everyone, sometimes you just can't get used to it. I move too jerkily to play on 10, but 6 on Black Ops seems right for me.

You should not waste any time and jump all the way to 10. It only takes a few games to get used to it. Just remember you're supposed to tap it or move in slightly, instead of turning the whole thing.
