You can't get banned(I think..), you actually change it outside of the game. If the VAC gods rage, I will be very surprised.

But with a dds-iwi specifically for MW2. Maybe the COD4 one will work with MW2, maybe not.

Obviously the end bit is different for MW2 since there is no mods infrastructure, so that bit is up to you to google how to do l33t modded lobbies.

Thanks abc. Friend pointed me in the direction of tuts on how to apply them. I did the skins on CoD4 and they actually look alot cooler than the ones on mw2.
