I've been trying to finish my AR challenges and I'm noticing something strange with how the game is registering 'Marksman' kills and 'Veteran' kills. Shouldn't these numbers be the same?

For example, I was finishing up my M16 challenges, before going in to a game, I had 734 kills for the Marksman challenge but only 491 kills for the Veteran challenge. I had 18 kills with the gun in the game but when the game was over, my Marksman challenge showed I had 746 kills and my Veterans challenge showed I had 506.

What's the difference between the 2 and why don't they count the same number of kills?

They ought to count for the same number of kills... maybe you didn't get all 18 kills with the gun, but that still doesn't explain why the veteran challenge and marksman didn't give your the same increase.

And Marksman challenges are the kills in any given prestige, they are the ones that reward you with the certain attachments like grenade launcher, acog, etc. Veteran challenges are how many kills you've earned since you've started prestiging, and don't reset when you prestige again.

I think you're right...I was thinking that the Veteran amount was a running total after I prestige'd after I sent the post.

I got the numbers wrong too in my original post (trying to go off memory), my Veteran kills number is larger than my Marksman kills so makes sense that Veteran kills are the total for all prestige levels.

No no...I'm an old timer. But I do have 2 sons at Fremd.
