Angry At what rank do you stop being called a "noob?"

Hey everyone!

Last week I got all MW games in one shot (PC), before that only playing on WaW. I've been called a *gulf* noob* endgulp* (how I hate that word) in almost every MW/MW3 session. Luckily yet, not in CoD4: MW.

I've ranked up pretty fast in all three games, hitting almost Lvl 20 in CoD4: MW, playing mostly on "Camp Overgrown" and Broadcast. At one level (ranking) do you stop referred to as a beginner? I don't know the maps that well yet and I get caught in a lot of crossfire or just not running/crouching enough. I'm not a trash-talker and I full-mute on my games so I don't have to listen to the abuse or the "camper" comments, all of it showing how immature many of these players are.

We all sucked at some point. Deal with it. I'm 36 and I don't take likely that the players in almost every match and session I play call me a camper, noob, F*g, and everything else the wonderful child mind gives out.

So what's the threshold? 20? 30? Thanks.

-Mark

I don't really see it as being what your rank is, more how you perform.

Several times I've been at the bottom of the lobby leaderboard while a rank 15 person has 1500 more points that anyone else.

Like if you can consistently be in the top 5, people will most likely stop calling you a noob.

And I would also suggest Private Matching by yourself or with friends, or looking up guides on this forum or elsewhere on the web to get a feel of how to play the MW games.

Well currently my performance sucks. I've 2 3rd places finishes in all of the MW games combined. MY K/D is way overbalanced towards the death door, and I know I am better at these kinds of games. I just need the better perks, but at this rate, I'll be 40 by the time I get them.

Noob is also just the standard term for pretty much anything now. It doesn't really matter. If you are a low rank you're a nub, use an acr...you're a nub, use a ump.....you're a nub, kill someone with a deathstreak....you're a nub. Do something stupid.....you're a nub, do something good and you will probably be using a noob perk or something.

This as well.

And we all start out that way. Just continue playing and eventually you'll get into the swing of things.

Hell, my K/D for WaW was .35 at one point. I brought it up to a 1.1. You just have to get used to the way the games play out.

It stops affecting you once you train yourself to disregard it as an insult. It's like being with your good buddies and suppose they call you an idiot all the time, just to be funny. Usually you won't take offense to it. It's a meaningless word, really.

I don't think a certain level titles you as 'noob', but rather how you perform. I have seen people that are only level 30 or below and still end the game as MVP.
Nowadays people toss around the word noob as a derogatory term against players they are insulted by. Just yesterday I was called a noob because I used a silencer and cold-blooded in Search and Destroy.
I try to refrain from calling people noobs because it has recently been more of a term as an insult, rather than a "new player." At any rate, I would just disregard feeble comments anyone tries to use at you. Pursue what your heart enjoys, and if anyone tries to take that from you, shame on them.

Note: I suggest you find a few friends you enjoy playing with, and mute everyone else. It cuts out all of the pretentious chatter that fills most game lobbies. Good luck.

Keep getting kills until your rank is higher than the person who called you a noob. Usually he wouldn't say anything after that
