I am happy with mw2, im glad i chose to get it on 360 as i only got what i expected, only problems seem to be easy to counter really, stinger missles on every class stop alot of killstreak problems and anyway it seems to be part of the game.

Eitherway it wasn't so amazing that i wont want to play COD4 or COD2 again

I'm kind of starting to get annoyed at team deathmatch now. After playing FFA I find TDM pretty boring since it's not as action-packed as FFA. In FFA you are nearly always shooting at somebody and there's so much action, which for me is great fun. I just find it's the most fun game mode now.

That's quite funny, because in COD4, I play FFA.... ALLL the time. Every single time I am online. Now, I hate FFA in MW2. Quite strange.

In COD4, I used to fear being in a Ground War match because the maps in COD4 were too small for that kind of size. In MW2 its better because everytime I play, I get at more than 5 kills each match thanks to the size of the matches, and maps. And I have better luck in them than I did in COD4 GW.

Not even COD4 pissed you off that much? COD4 pissed me off and I had the same situation as you.

In fact, COD4 is the first game to make me throw my controller at a wall or TV for god's sakes!

I doubt Cod4 has never pissed you off as much as MW2 may have.
Trust me, I broke 2 PS3 controllers because of Cod4 anger.

Lots of small things are very slightly annoying like only being able to play a certain gametype on certain maps and score limits being reached rather quickly. Funnily enough on COD4 every game had a score limit that let everyone have an average of more than 15-20 kills and you could play any gametype on any map.

Any why should I have an awful, even more, lag infested private game just so i can fix aspects of the game. Annoying.

Anyone else noticed virtually half of the complaints here are/were easily solved with dedicated servers? Please just integrate dedicated servers into the PS3/360 infrastructure so we can have them back... and I'm sure the £1 per person per week from dedicated servers racks up a hell of a lot more cash than £10 a year from DLC...

I absolutely love the game with a few exceptions. The pace of the SP missions was incredible and unfortunately made it go by much to quickly. When I first started playing the mulitiplayer (a few days after it came out) it was nice because people didn't know all the choke points and no one had figured out "nuke boosting" or the dreaded "javelin/human time bomb" thing. But now I find myself in a "nuked" game every 3 or 4 games and it is really annoying (since I have to play on IWNET through Steam) because it has suddenly become hard to find a good TD or MTD to get into. I'm not that good so I camp and toob a lot. Since most of the games I end up in are 100ms ping or better, I can't run around because I just become "Sir Dies Alot". There are several maps that just should be dropped, and are as follows "Wasteland", "Derailed" "Quarry". The akimbo shotgun thing is really annoying. OMG, does anyone at Infinity Ward know anything about recoil and ballistics? And getting knifed by someone who is close to 10 feet away from you (seen this in Killcams multiple times) is really annoying. On the one hand I would really like to see dedicated servers again, but on the other hand I like being able to play in a server where I am not limited to certain weapons or perks. I live of scavenger pro. It is great to be able to constantly re-arm, although a bit ridiculous. All in all, a good game, and now I have to go get into an MP game. Good hunting folks.

I only played CoD4 for a month when it first came out so, I got in and out before the grenade spam and other crazy stuff started happening. I rather enjoyed my short time with it. Now that I actually own MW2, I've invested more in it so, I am more serious about it... therefore, more pissed about it.

Default Re: Thoughts On MW2 (now-you've-played-it-for-a-few-weeks)

I think that the biggest problem of MW2 is that IW went overboard with the killstreaks. I mean admit it, you camp to get that Predator Missile/Harrier. When you do get it, you decide that you are almost there and you camp for the Pavelow/Chopper Gunner/AC130. When you actually get it, you go and find a ice-cold part of the map and stay there while you get the Pavelow/Chopper Gunner/AC130. Finally, you are so close - 5 kills away - from the Nuke. Then, you camp some more for the Nuke. Whaddaya know? You've camped the entire match. When EVERYONE is trying to do that, it gets VERY annoying. No one moves, the game gets boring, then people start doing things like the Javelin glitch to help move the pace of the game.

My solution to camping and many problems: keep the AC130 and the Chopper Gunner the MAX killstreak.

The grenade spam made YOU leave COD4? Wow.

I enjoyed the grenade spam, its part of what made COD4 addictive. I love being in the middle of a frantic battle. I LOVE it. And I loved the competitiveness of it all.

The only reasons I get pissed off at COD4 are:

- Lagswitching.
- Cheating.
- Spawn Killing.
- Campers [a.k.a. pussies, ahem, I mean, sissies]
- Glitchers.
- Turbo Controller users!

I love the game. When I first started playing, I was put off by how easy it was to get kills, but now that I've been playing for awhile, I've grown to love it. I love the frantic battle arena going on around me, the explosions, and AC-130 bombshells and the Harriers, I love every aspect of the game.

As for campers, I've never really had a problem with them... Not to say they haven't been there, but knowing where they are and a backroute to get to them takes care of the problem. The guns are amazing, both for killing and gazing. I love looking at some of them(ACR, lol), and the killstreaks are great.

The story mode is also amazing. Just yesterday I plowed through it without stopping because it was so intense. Fast paced missions, great graphics, great voice acting, overall just great.

Gosh, I guess I just love this game.

Im lovin mw2 still , i enjoyed cod4 and waw and many complained about those games, Halo3 anybody ?? i rate that too but people moan about that as well, i reckon that there will never be an online game that suits everybody... the biggest whingers i noticed on all the forums on said games where the ones who had massive playing times , which made me think maybe playing too much spoils the fun...

prefered cod 4 and 5 to this. to many games that seem to have shit loads of campy fuckers. and the riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidiculous 1887 akimbo shit that kills from a riiiiiiiiiidiculous range. soon as i come across a person with these in the game i leave. IW fail on this one imo.

Anyway, back to the point... RAGE.

Since this game is so addicting and since I am a slightly competitive videogame player; I get incredibly ****ing pissed off while playing this game online. I don't know if I'm even having fun, anymore. I mean, I know I enjoy playing the game killing others but I feel like I'm turning into one of those robots that I have been complaining about in this post.

Anyone else feel like they're just playing this game out of addiction instead of a genuine pursuit of having fun?
I hate this game. Multiplayer sucks. Campaign was Great. I'm really close to throwing this game on the counter at gamestop and seeing what I can trade it for.

Several matches I've died 10+ times before I ever saw anybody. No matter what Perk I use, when I snipe somebody or kill them, I am immediatley killed by the same player because they respawned behind me or I'm killed by 3 of his teamates that have magically spawned in a triangle around me.

I have a Job, and a Life therfore I dont have the "mandatory" 24 hours a day I need to invest in this game to be any good at it. I Swear some of these players must wear diapers they play this game so much.

Ya'll can have it.

I was blinded by love when I first got this game, and now that I truly see it... it's still a great game. CoD4 had TWO YEARS to be refined into it's current state. Every new online game has problem, and if they are made by a competent developer, such as Infinity Ward, those problems will be ironed out through regular updates. In two or three years, when MW3 comes out, it'll have the same problems and the same solutions.

TaMaBaGs is dead right, it's the killstreaks that really ruin this game at the moment. The AC130 or chopper gunner is a game-winner a lot of the time (aside from the Nuke obviously) and that's not right - one player's killstreak rewards shouldn't be THAT rewarding for a whole team.
Other than that, I'm finding that a lot of my initial gripes are subsiding a bit. A lot of people's complaints come under one general heading - INBALANCE. However, now that a lot of people are getting a feel for the weapons and the maps, I've noticed that games are starting to find a similar rhythm to COD4 ones (still not there yet though). I'm starting to find MW2 addictive because I can see hope that people are figuring out how to counter the imbalance and the games will eventually become much more fun and fairer... here's hoping.....

there are far too many training wheels on this game

painkiller. heartbeat sensors. that ninja bs that delays claymores. commando pro allowing you to knife people from 5 feet away despite being filled with bullets.

then there's a new glitch or cheat method found every week.

they couldve done so much better with this game

List of things that i noticed in the game:
+ Flashbangs flash from behind ?
+ Ping, or better, killcams dont match your screen
+ Kniving behind you
+ Matchmaking FAILS
+ Unbalanced weapons
+ Nothing seriously done about hackers
+ Host picking fails 5/10 times gets a worse host
+ Sentryguns aren't able to be flashed and stunned
+ Magnetic frags ( watch at the killcam, the will roll at you )

And im sure that there is a lot more, but cant get them up in my mind right now.
Sometimes i really just wanna all over the game

Yeah, I think IW really did work hard on this game, but they messed up pretty badly in a couple of areas imo. These are my concerns with mulitplayer:
-Assault rifles are way too accurate
-Snipers are incredibly underpowered compared to cod 4 and assault rifles generally are a better choice at long range
-Frags are WAY undepowered
-Death streaks are quite annoying, the only one that is really fair is Copycat
-Map design is mediocre compared to cod 4
-Too much air support imo
-SMGs are made redundant by secondaries, SMGs need a recoil reduction
-last stand is pretty unfair imo, but IW can't really do anything about it now
-Grenade launchers are way overused and overpowered
-Care package AC130s/chopper gunners
-Glitch infested matchmaking...needed a beta

My biggest problem:
-Knifing, i am not sure if it is just on consoles(due to lag), but knifing is rediculous. I regularly get knifed from 7+ feet away, it seems like the worse connection you have, the bigger your knife lunge is...

Yeah as some poeple have already said, I usually have a good time on MW2 when not a ton of people are using grenade launchers and killstreak rewards aren't everywhere.

Now now, don't start trading in your copy of MW2 yet. Of course the game has many flaws. But give it sometime! Or play another game!

I am one of the players that was part of the Christmas influx and have had a couple weeks to get used to the game.

Yea there are flaws in the game but nothing that has completely broken the game (well maybe the nuke/CP exploit on PCs). Most of the stuff (already mentioned above) is annoying as hell but does not make the game unplayable. For me and obviously for many others there is still enjoyment and fun to be had. If there wasn't nobody would still be playing it.
For me the biggest frustration is, without a doubt, 110%, LAG.
I couldn't tell you how many times I've rounded a corner only to have an enemy face to face with me.....I knife......I die (from the other guys knife).......respawn.......character goes through the knifing animation that I used before dying and respawn.
