Default Re: Tac Knife Strategy

my favourite knife class is:
ump45 w/rds
m9 w/tactical knife
throwing knife stun x2

marathon pro
lightweight pro
commando pro

sometimes i just get killed and manage to knife only a few enemies but other times i get a lot of kills!
Btw too bad that knife kills doesn't count for gun's prestige challenge...

For stealth stabbing I like:

UMP silenced
m9 tac knife
Marathon
CB
Ninja

Otherwise the classic
marathon lightweight commando for non stealth, sometimes use the scar on this class

It does, however, need tactics, and lightwieght is not always the best, neither is a smg always the best.
Just like the threads for sniper classes/tactics.
Getting good kdr with knifing can be hard.

I know there are alot of people against the tac knife and commando, but I personally love this setup. On small maps like scrapyard, or ones with corridors like crash its beast. Last week I nearly defended scrapyard by myself on demolition with a tac knife, semtex and sentry guns.

man i gota try tac knife, but usually when i see a guy killing with marathon/lightweight/commando, i pull out the spas-12 with the same perks, the shotgun works well against lungers instead of machine guns

Yeah, i stopped tac knifing, it was only paying off if i played against idiots who clumped together. wasn't worth the little reward and massive frustration.

Lmao. You are going to piss so many people off just for having tac knife and commando.
I myself being one of those people. Maybe try using ninja pro?

I love tac knifing <3 tis probably the only class I use commando with 0.0

Mine is:

Mini Uzi Silenced.
Any handgun (but mostly Deagle) tac knife.

Semtex (If I'm pinned down)
Flashbangs (Again for the pindown)

Marathon
Lightweight (or CB depending on map)
Commando (sometimes ninja, but I want the no falling dmg )

Martyrdom (Simply because I have something against Painkiller...)

UAV, Predator, Pavelow (Although since I'm going for some titles these days it's Predator, Harrier, AC130)

Callsign: Dishes are Done.
Emblem: Throwing Knife.

Yes I actually have a callsign for my knifing class XD

I agree. it's so stupid when you turn the corner and there a guy 20 ft. away and before you can shoot he knifes you across the room? cool right?

Am i the only one who uses tac knife as a secondary? i love it on my scar and sniper class. 0.3 second draw time is very nice, then just knife them in the face. Great for reload panic (scar low ammo+long reload time=KNIFE)

Default Re: Tac Knife Strategy

I've tried several different classes, and the Tac Knife class is devestating in the right hands (i.e. mine)

This is my setup:
Primary - Intervention (or any sniper class), soley for the ghillie suit
Secondary - USP w/ tac knife (USP is easiest to get it with)

Equipment - Throwing Knife
Secondary - Flash Bang

Perk1 - Marathon Pro
Perk2 - Lightweight Pro
Perk3 - Commando Pro

The secret to using this class effectively is NEVER STOP MOVING! I've ran head on at guys with AK's and managed to knife them before dying. When playing Domination/Team Deathmatch, you want to stay along the edge of the map and attempt to flank your opponent. I love nothing more than to sneak up behind a room full of 5-6 guys and stab them all before anyone knows what happened.

If you get caught running head on at a gunner, try going prone, then getting up and running in a different direction. This catches enemies off guard and will sometimes allow you to get in a throwing knife kill.

Use Care Package and Sentry Gun as your Killstreaks because you'll probably die more often than anyone else...which is understandable considering you will spend 99% of the match right under the enemies nose.

Another tactic is to camp somewhere until an enemy (or group of enemies) happens by, then pop out, run up behind them, rinse, and repeat (the ghillie suit helps with this)

My best score with this class was 46-3-21

The game isn't supposed to be completely real. Too much realism takes the fun out of a game.

3 mos, 5 days since the last post? Ah, sure, I'll drop by.

P90 Extended Mags
USP .45 Tac-Knife

Throwing Knife
Stun/Flash (can't remember which)

Marathon Pro
Lightweight Pro
Commando Pro

Martyrdom (Painkiller = stupid)

I agree that it's a lame class and is abused... Frankly, I don't use it all that often, but it is FUN after a streak of losses or to get a little payback on quickscopers/tubers/campers. Has a ridiculous ranged melee attack, but it recovers so fast that I find myself missing, overshooting, and getting shot in the back since I'm unused to the speed.

Painkiller (as in extra resistance to damage)is stupid so you don't use it. Being invulnerable isn't stupid?

I ALWAYS use painkiller on a rushing class of any kind, since you're likely to be running into enemies quickly. Who cares about being a douchebag on MW2 anyway

If you have already dropped down the the low level of running MLC then calling painkiller stupid is well, just that.
