I think what most people are pissed off at is they didn't earn the title and that they want to do it the honest way so they feel they have done something good. Whatever the reason the point is they didn't earn it i guess .

See this is where most people fail..!! Because so many people put huge importance in what prestige they are but wont admit it..!! Gamesfreak only said he wanted to do it for the extra classes but you all assume he wants the badges..!! Prestige is for egos..!!..Fact..!!

but its still 10 or so days of work for everyone else whatever reason they want it, whether you get a shiny badge or a new gun getting it for free isnt fair.

i do care about prestige and levels. Masssively lol.

i like levelling ad the feeling that my account is getting stronger/better etc. The class slots etc. make it a no-brainer, but i prestiged 10 times on COD4... and all you got on that was losing all weapons and challenges while gaining a new symbol. Ever since the day i first saw a gold cross i thought it was really cool and was in awe of the players lol. I know i wanted that symbol, not so much to show off but more so that i had it. Knowing i had completed everything the game could throw at me.

Its on par with skipping to the last level of sonic (or battletoads ) etc. then completing the game and going around telling people about it. They are getting the reward without putting in the work everyone else has to.

If this was true i wouldn't still be at 70 on prestige one, i care nothing about prestige, all it is to me is bragging rights and frankly if your prestige one and own a 10th prestige you pretty much already have bragging rights. Again most people are just annoyed that they didn't earn it but they still get the glory of being in a lobby at a higher prestige than everyone else.

I'm not goin to do it, but I'll be honest... it is sort of tempting because of the time it's going to take to get there. You know the drill, rank up, reach prestige, start again, repeat. It sort of gets old, but I'll still do it. It took me 26 days play time to get 10/55 on COD4... I can only imagine how long it's going to take me on MW2, I have 3 days, 4 hours play time and barely 1/26... oh well...

Cheating at life entails a lot of things; stealing other people's money, stealing a prestigious item to make a profit off it, cheating on your girlfriend so that you can gain more talks about YOU in social circles....There are many ways to cheat in life. People who cheat at life are seen as losers to others.

This is why "bad guys" are really bad guys; gangsters, mobsters, biker gangs, and etc. etc.
This "cheat" started as a hack job on PC, so now its on PS3.

Saw a couple of Prestige 10 guys playing last and thought WTF ??, How sad that people feel the need to do this, it just goes to show that they are utter brain donors if they think the rest of us wont see them for the sad rankers they are. Damn I got a letter wrong there.

I am crap at this game but I have fun. I would probably get to tenth prestige right about the time Modern Warfare 3,478,895 came out but I care not a jot. I am at level 70 now and just enjoying doing the challenges and being cannon fodder for others who are better than me. Hell someone has to die in the game and it might as well be me !!, it just makes those games where I do well all the sweeter !!

I think we should all club together and send these guys a pound/dollar/Euro, they can use it to buy themselves a clue.

Actually, at this point, it's kind of funny because when you currently see a Prestige 10, you know it's a piss poor little hacker who can't do things old school and needs to cheat...kinda makes lobby banter more fun....great job 10th prestiger...you went 13 and 28....too bad you can't find a hack to become a better player.

Maybe it's a UK/US thing but that to me was quite obviously a joke.

Anyway... I can't wait to absolutely OWN some prestige 10-ers! It's gonna be so sweet.

the difference comes in with the fact that people in life have to do their best to dodge punishments. If there were no rules or laws, people would be stealing/raping/killing all day long without fear of anything happening.

Due to laws (in the UK crap ones) people are less likely to do crimes, so its a much smaller percentage of people that do it.

On the game there is no law or action that will be taken against people doing it, so theres no risk. It something so obvious with blatent proof, (like stealing a car then driving to the police station in it and shouting how funny it was when you stole it) but nothing will happen.

the little kids doing it will at most go back to their old rank and wait a week for the next game-breaking hack to be realised in which they can screw everyone else over.

Its just becoming too often. I have no doubt people will keep finding things, but there should be a report option (resistance 2 has one as an example) in which mid-game, if you notice someone cheating, you can click the button and type out a little line or so as to what they are doing. If they recieve a set number within a game about the same issue the person will be truely dealt with.

Thats how the game should run.

I tried this today on my spare ps3 and an old psn account I had for the psp..!! I can confirm this glitch / hack works... I went straight to 9th prestige level 70..!! I did not 10th prestige like the instructions tell you too..!! I played with a few of the guns I dont have on level 62 1st prestige then turned off the console..!! When I turned it back on the prestige had reset to level one, so I guess I could delete the save files and no one would be any the wiser..!! Anyway I was just intrigued by it, I found that having 10 classes was excellent, I dont know how many times I have been rushing about trying to change my class before a game starts..!! But it only confirmed to me what I originally thought and thats that I will not be prestiging once I hit level 70, the badge is pointless to me and the extra classes are just not worth the effort involved..!! Hope this helps to those who are tempted a wee teeny bit to try it out..!!
