This morning i noticed that allot of players had already reached 10th prestige, i did find it weird since only last night almost everyone i saw was maybe 5th prestige at highest (most were lower than that), then i heard two people talking on their mic about a "10th prestige glitch" so i searched it and this is what i found. Copied and paste, i wrote none of this.

I didn't try this nor will i ever try it, if your going to your doing so at your own risk, i just wanted to get everyone's take on this, should the people who use this be banned? or even just have their stats reset? any views?

havent been on here in a couple of weeks (have no computer, so internet surfing time is rare) and i hadnt played MW2 for a few days, ive been playing resistance 2 again and quite geting into that.

tonight i go back on MW2 because one of my best mates kept asking me to log on so we could do spec ops then go straight into multiplayer like we normally do.

we did the spec ops (estate takedown on veteran. 15-20 attempts, finally cracked the code just after midnight lol) then moved into MP and teamed up with some other online friends.

In the 3rd or 4th game i noticed a 10th prestige. He was shit. went 8-8, which for a normal player would be fine, but if you get to 10th prestige this quick legally, you dont get scores like that lol.

i wondered about it for a few games but saw nothing more. My mate went offline, along with nearly all my friendslist, i hit 2nd prestige and figured i would just unlock the create a class before i turned off the game for the night. went into a lobby, there was me and a 5 man clan [-FR-] who were all 10th prestige. i realised something must have been up, over the next few games i saw about 15 10th prestigers, who were all average at best.

My take on it is the same as the javelin glitch, the same as the leaderboard hacks (obvious ones) and the same as environmental glitchers, perma ban. Not from the console network but from the game. I wanted to be amazed when i saw the first legit 10th prestiger. But theres always some divs who have to ruin it for everyone else. IW will do jack shit, but i wish they would all get perma-banned. its all the same group of players who do every glitch/hack released. they are scum in the gaming world in my opinion.

what takes the piss even more is that they had the 10th prestige title on show as if they earned it. lol.

i havent seen a single 6-9 prestige player, yet i see 25+ 10th prestige players in one night and they thought it wouldnt be obvious???

I do agree with you (maybe scum is to harsh a word though ) i have only seen 1 person at prestige 9 but still apparently you can use the glitch to get to any prestige so you never know who used it, maybe not perma-ban but certainly some kind of punishment, i just witnessed a level 12 on 10th prestige go 7-2 after an entire game of sabotage, most times i guess it would be easy to tell unless they were actually good and decided they didn't want to prestige 9 more times.

That's why i'm still at level 70 on prestige 1 and i don't intend on going on just for a symbol,a title and an extra custom slot, why lose all my challenges for that? I'll be staying at 70 forever most likely.

I think account reset with a warning, do it again and perma ban.

I WILL NOT be doing this. I want my Kills/Deaths/points to speak for themselves in any one game, not my prestige level.

That's exactly what i was thinking, i was playing S&D and the other team was a party of 10th prestige's, the highest being 42, we completely destroyed them despite most of us being first prestige, whats worse is they were all trying to flame my team over their mics when they killed one of them, i went 14-0 that game and they didn't say a thing

i think hackers must have found a cheat button within the PS3's coding or something. we get hacked so easy its unreal lol

every week its like some massive new hack that tears apart games and ruins scores/leaderboards. I feel sorry for all the people that worked on getting the javelin title a week before the glitch was truely found out for example lol, now everyone with the title i dont believe :P

I would assume there would be some tracker for total xp gained, which should make it possible for IW to reset ranks for players who have less experience total than they need for the level. If they just leave em as 10th prestige its gonna be so annoying

When me and my mates team up (or me and anyone on my friendlist ) its fun to go into a lobby and gauge what type of strength the other team are on average. For example we see a lobby of lower level players and we might switch in higher killstreaks or trying using guns we arent as good with but can still have a high chance of getting the win.

If we see a clan with 3rd/4th prestige players we know we have to play our best, use the simple/effective ks rewards and the guns we are best with.

Now we go into lobbies and cant tell whether we are playing 1st or 4th prestigers because of the bloody hack

I'm not gonna lie, i'm probably gonna do this because i get very annoyed with doing prestige mode, but i really want the extra 10 classes too.

This will just make it a lot faster and easier.

While it's true that now there is no way to judge players until actually in game now but it does feel good when you destroy an 10th prestige even though you know they didn't earn it.
