Yes, it comes down to my own inability to deal w/ shielders but they are a low crouching, bullet-reflecting, melee-ing menace that I still haven't learned to be comfortable with yet.

I litterally ran into one last night on Quarry! After I bounced off him I retreated and he started after me. I had only just run past a red barrel so I kept back pedalling and taking the occasional shot at his shield to keep his interest. Eventually he was level with the drum and I fired the rest of the clip into the drum. BOOM! One dead shielder. He lol'd, I lol'd and both started trash talking each other. At the end of the game he was 17 - 2 - 1, turns out I was the only one to kill him in that game.

We played a couple of games together as a team after that and he was very good with the shield, regularly going 15 or up and less than 5 deaths. He just took his time and planned where his killing area was going to be, usually somewhere narrow.

Respect to good shielders ( I'm not one of them!)

Shielding is hard to do right due to the fact your characters butt sticks out the left side of your shield i think

There seems to be a lot of talk about nerfing arguably the hardest setup to use effectively in the entire game...

If it is overpowered (why else would it need to be nerfed?) use it and dominate. After a couple of hours going 2-17 come back and let everyone know how they need to be nerfed.

A stun grenade helps here because you have to make a wide circle, otherwise they commando you

If I encounter a shielded headache, I usually don't bother, unless I just wana have fun. Usually while your running around elaborately trying to kill the shielded headache a third party steps in and foils everything.

I did have a couple of giggle fests with a good shielder in free for all one. It was almost amusing as a FFA Sniper Lobby.

I was saying that from a riot shielder's point of view, when someone sees me, they just circle me and try to knife me from the side, and always manage to succeed.
And I'm sure I use riot shields more than anyone else in this game
I've literally only been killed twice by one

I really love the riot shield for a completely different approach to gameplay.
But lately I've been noticing some annoying phenomenon that really ruins the whole thing: I get up close to some guy and bash him in the face with the shield, then at the same time he knifes and actually kills me even though my shield is still between us? What the hell is that all about?

The riot shield is excellent, but i do agree that it should be a Secondary item or equipment.

I think it's pretty hilarious when I get killed by a riot shield. Normally I can take them because I usually stay at range since I like to snipe. Sometimes they sneak up on me and I unload my entire arsenal on them then the guy throws a knife at me and kills me.

One way to get a riot sheild guy is while your running away set a claymore backwards so it doesn't activate untill they walk past it. C4 is good to.

Sometime I run into a guy with riot sheild and blast shield. Man that sucks when your sniping.

i always get alot of messages from other people whenever i use a riot shield. i am pretty good with it, averaging 17 kills - 8~10 deaths per TDeathMatch round. since i am maxed level 70 tenth prestige, the hate messages i get are always about me being a noob and boosting. it gets really annoying. but there are also some who compliments me too. i remember a couple of days ago, i had a TDM round with 37 kills- 7 deaths with a riot shield. haha, i recieved many good/bad messages from other players. and when going 11-1 in a hardcore searchNdestroy with a riot shield, i got soo many hate pms.

so just to let you guys know: using a riot shield is as legit as using any weapon, there are some REALLY good riot shielders out there, a high level person using a riot shield does not mean they boosted.
