Yes, it comes down to my own inability to deal w/ shielders but they are a low crouching, bullet-reflecting, melee-ing menace that I still haven't learned to be comfortable with yet.

Not to mention - there's no dignified way of dying against a shielder.

You either
get pummeled with a melee;
get a throwing knife to the crotch;
get a bullet to the forehead while you're reloading;
or do something stupid to make the shielder look like a stud.

All around, Riot Shield users have been the biggest source of rage, getting startled, and overall shit-my-pants moments.

Thanks for nothing Shielders. I hate you all.

Semtex are your best friends in those situations. Either that or screaming on the mic for someone to shoot them in the back, haha.

hmm... i assume your talking about non-hardcore. 'Cuz it's one-shot-kill (or one-melee kill rather) for a shield melee in Hardcore.

Me too. I laugh and scream and giggle when I'm trying to kill these guys it's incredible the amount of shit we do to them and they still stand there! Got to love the reload dance too! I tried to use a riot shield but I use my scroll wheel for melee so it's really awkward and I can only hit them once before they kill me. Needless to say I do not use the riot shield.

C4 is your friend against these guys, with semtex they tend to rush you and kill both of you sometimes. with C4, it's flash bang, C4 drop and run away and wait for them to follow you. Works 90% of the time even without the flashbang. Finding a corner out of sight you can run around before planting helps too!

Has anyone managed to get C4 to stick to the riot shield? I don't know if it will or not, haven't wanted to get close enough to find out!

To me this is the best way to get them, with a Stun Grenade rather than with a Semtex, easier to miss with a Semtex.

The stun will slow them down considerably, then the rest is a piece of cake.

haha yeh i hate riot shield users lmao. The fact that they are charging at you and your bullets don't hurt them pisses me off lol, so i always have a semtex handy one me

I say "Kudos!!" to people who use the riot shield effectively. I've tried it and I really sucked at it. Riot shields aren't exactly easy to use.

Players who can take down riot shield users on a regular basis, also deserve kudos. That's something else I suck at...

I usually just "cook" a frag until it's about to blow, then throw it at them (try to get it just behind them).

Have you guys faced a Riot guy that also uses Blast Shield? You can stick their shield with a semtex and they survive...that makes it fun

So.. Today, I happened to walk into a game of Ground War on Domination.

Then I see like 5 or 6 guys in like a formation with riot shields, making like a square looking thing..

I was thinking about it for a while, and then I got the idea that it came from 300.

Anyone happen to come into a game full of riot-shield using people?

PS: It was pretty fun trying to break their form.. Otherwise, they would all camp in a corner, with the shields facing in different directions to face grenades and such

Downside

I'm a riot shield user and it can be a love it or hate weapon some times. Like yesterday, I played one game and got pummeled then the next game I was brilliant. In fact I even made a knifer leave in anger as I killed him 5 times in a row with the sheild (i actually lol'd the 5th time) cause every time he knife me I blocked it or stunned him first and got him that way. He helped me get my PM which I killed 3 people with, which allowed me to get my heli then my AC130

It's imposdible for them to catch up with you when you semtex them. Riot shield has tve slowest movement of all primarys.

One time, I decided "hey, what the hell, let's try riot shield for once" so I go and use it. I was in Rundown and I tagged along with my clan (AoA) I hear some of my clan members are walking upstairs, and I see some standing by for picking off players. So, I noticed a bunch of players on the other side of the map, I crouched and moved forward the location. I also saw 3 to 4 players camping on roof tops, I kept my riot shield, they shot me many times to the point of gaining a lot of points for riot shield use. While I'm shielding myself, I see some of the AoA members pick the "campers" off from the roof by either shooting at them or sniping from the other end of the map.

That's just one example - today, some members on AoA decided - lets do a team of riot shields, try somethin' new eh? So, we play a few matches with them... Here comes Estate. In estate, I followed this guy to the lower end basement where the pool is, I walked to the "closet" on the right - I was right behind him, so he turns around and starts shooting at me. Nothin' worked. Mostly because I was crouching, and he'd already used the grenade. So, for 3 minutes straight, I stood there, blocking the doorway - I could hear his reactions on mic. lol He thought I was embarrassed just because I was 1 kills - 14 deaths. I was doing it for lols! Its just like following someone around with riot shield and he has no idea what the fuck to do!

I sent him a message asking if he was embarrassed - he said "um. you were the one who's embarrassing with a 1 - 14 score." then he proceeds to tell me that if I messaged him again he'll send me more hate mail. What a tool. I think that what's more embarrassing than a bad score is when someone runs at you and you're at a loss about what to do about a riot shield player...or let alone someone who is a riot shield user blocked your way, and you shot him more than 3 minutes..AND not knowing what the hell to do then!

I love trapping people w/ the shield. When the game first came out, me and a friend both used shields on Wasteland. All of the fighting was taking place by C and the helicopter, so we took a shortcut through the bunker on our way from A flag. As we pass through, we find someone crouched in the corner, camping one of the entrances. We both ran in front of him to block him in. We were trying to figure out a way to kill him in a humorous fashion but our victim already had a plan. He tries to throw a frag grenade which bounces off one of our shields and lands right underneath him. We both get the suicide assist as well as points for absorbing the damage from his grenade. I got some nice fanmail over that one.
