So annoying.
If there is one thing that should stop a lightfooted, sprinting, A.D.D. child in his tracks, it should be a claymore. Im ok with with the delay and being able to move around a claymore, if its poorly positioned, and youre quick enough. But IMO as soon as a lightfooted foot touches one of those lasers, it should be frozen in its tracks. /end |

I think it's the combination of Marathon and Lightweight... but I agree, it is annoying when someone whizzes by your safety net unscathed and kills you.

if you set your claymore FACING the door way, they will almost always run right by it with lightweight. But, if you set your claymore in the doorway, facing the direction that they WILL be running, it will get them almost 99% of the time. I have no proof to back up my %, just personal experience. It works great for me.

the problem with claymores is they don't explode quick enough. plus the click gives them away.
most times i can just run back. |

im something of a claymore pervert.
i know all the little tricks and believe me the only way to really screw a lightfoot with a claymore is to use 1 man army, switch to a c4 class and couple your claymore with a c4 charge...BOOOOM (but it takes a little time to set up) ...its even great for screwing scramblers...when you hear the "click" double tap reload and thats all she wrote! |

i'm a claymore user and i think it's good you actually have a chance to escape them.
usually i place them facing away from the door, so they'll only trigger when you're inside and there's nowhere to run, and if your radar gets fuzzy or you hear the click but don't gey a kill, pull out your shotgun. unless the door is facing a small corridor, then there's no way to spot them and they'll be dead before they enter the room, as most people don't just storm in. just either place the claymore with the laser tips barely touching the door and you're set to go. or find a place where you can hide it and point it towards where you think they'll go, not where they'll entrer from. example: there is a door and a path to the right, place the claymore to the left and point it towards the right, woks most times and if the laser tips are just barely out of sight, they won't even know where the claymore was, and they'll try to come back again and get blown to bits! just experience with them on different maps and locations and you'll get used to them and start blowing away those lightweights. I knew you could pick up your sentry gun to reposition it, but I didn't know you could pick up your claymores.
I just learned my something new for the day...

I've never been able to reposition claymores and god knows I've tried.
I played against a team of Marathon knifers last night on Favela and had a lot of success w/ clays once I knew what I was up against. Using my SCAR/Striker/Scavenger class, I was setting claymores inside the building over B flag w/ the shower/bathroom. Against normal players, I could set them facing at a 45* angle to the top step of the stairs, but against knifers, I would set them behind the dresser by the stairs, facing at an angle towards the corner of the room so that the blast would hit the runner in the back. I had about a 90% success rate by doing this including killing the same guy 3 times in a row and completing the "Bigger They Are..." challenge.

you can't repisition them, you can just get more with scavanger or one man army and then place them, but if you place a trird one the first will explode, so you can set up two at a time.

Here's a little tip if you are using an m16 or any other high powered gun turn on danger close instead of stopping power...I was having the same problems until I did this...it amplifies the power of your claymores. I still occasionally have pol make it through them but not nearly as often

when i have marathon and lightweight on a class, i just run right through claymores. i don't even worry about them,if you put them a few feet away from the dorway, it would more likely to get kills.

Best to do what somebody above said and plant facing the direction they'll be going. They can't run fast enough to get away from that. Also, places with two doorways; let me clarify. Think the building at point "A" at scrapyard. Plant between both doors, and in this case, plant the way that they're coming from. They don't expect it at the angle, so they usually won't be running. You can also plant them under stairs facing the bottom so when they start the climb it explodes.
