Default Changing Weapon (SLOW)

Why when changing to a secondary weapon is it much slower than in Cod4, Can anyone explain ? Please note I am not meaning (One Man Army). I mean when changing for example from a SCAR to a MAGNUM.

Probably because it depends on which class your secondary is. It would take longer to pull out a shotgun than it would for a handgun, same goes for the heavy launchers as well. As far as comparing from COD4 goes, maybe they adjusted the times it takes to switch, that I am not sure of, sorry.

Does SOH affect how quick you are able to swith weapons? I have not really paid attention to that.

I really doubt that, since it just affects reload and ADS speed.

Secondary switches rely completely on which weapon you have. Handguns switch the fastest. Weapon attachments switch very fast as well (shotgun, tube). In COD4 it was the same way with pistols being pulled out faster than RPGs.

It would make no sense to have a shotgun be pulled out like a pistol. Whats the point in using a pistol then?

Why?

Because COD4 rewards fast reflexes with a very quick knife, switch to pistol and pretty deadly weapon damage compared to MW2.

MW2 is about slowing things down and making it harder to do well and easier to do average - therefore more enjoyable for average joe and therefore a higher demand. Sales = more, if not higher, profit.

This is getting repetitive.

he's right tho, the pistols definitley still came out faster in COD4 ... dont know why that is ... but u cant say that switching is faster than reloading now like in COD4

Yeah, I used shotguns for a while but overall the raffica proved more useful. Also (i haven't tested this, just from how it appears to me), from the fastest to slowest, it seems:

handguns>machine pistols>shotguns>launchers

The Raffica IS a shotgun if you do it right.

Also, launchers deploy MUCH faster than shotguns if you animation cancel correctly. See this video for reference. The best example is probably the wincam kill.

ABC probably sums it best up but I have another Question refering to his post.

Does this mean this game is for noobs ? one you can't switch fast when using shotgun etc and also noobs get rewarded when they die with their death streaks etc.

You should look the next time you change weapon to a secondary and you will know where I am coming from. Theirs nothing worse playing a game of search and destroy with a sniper and trying to take out a machine pistol, but it doesen't swap quick enough and then you die.

So use a pistol or a raffica, as they have faster switching times.

Also, switch to your machine pistol right as soon as you spawn, let your character chamber a round, and then switch back. The next time you switch to the pistol (when you really need it) it will be faster. Try it.

I played it this weekend and I didnt notice anything but movement speeds being different.

Also, either COD4 is easier than I remember, or all the good players left for MW2.

I use the shotgun attachement on my AR'S. It has brutal range and switching over is faster then going to a secondary. I then use a launcher as my secondary to take out choppers and planes

Yes sir. Yes.

I shake my head in disbelief, but they wanted profit? They got it. But only going to be met with backlash and controversy. Which in turn brings alienation to the previous game's fans. -_-

Fucking Kotick. Fucking fire that mother fucker, man.

No they are not. I tried comparing the switches between MW2, and COD4. COD4 is speedy. I can switch between my MP5 and Desert Eagle in a snap - and it helps me in those last minute exchanges. I can't begin to tell you how much they fucked up the weapon swaps. Every fucking time I switch between an Assault Rifle or LMG, or SMG and with a Machine gun, or a handgun the speed swap isn't there. It only happens for really high mobility guns with high mobility guns.

I can't tell you how many times I've swapped weapons in front of enemies only to find out they kill me before the full swap takes place in MW2, whereas in COD4, the swap is quicker, makes for perfect "on the fly" battles.

Case in point, you find out your MP5 bullets are empty, you got a Desert Eagle in your disposal. You got 5 seconds before they kill you right on the spot, you take it out, pull the trigger, and BOOM. He's dead. That is, if his health is low. If its high, you're going to have to spend the next 3 seconds pulling the same triggers over and over until he's gone.

I did it in Overgrown. I can't do it in MW2, because it takes more than 10 seconds to swap to another weapon. Seriously.

More than 10 secs to swap weapons?! Are you trying to assemble an aircraft carrier or something?

I'm still sticking with my opinion: No, they're not the same.

If they were the same, I would have had 15/20 kills per match, and not going up and down between 8kills, 15kills, or my match record of 25kills. My lowest being 4 kills. -_-

Running in MW2 is inferior to the one in COD4, that is, unless you have both Lightweight, and Marathon equipped at the same time in the same class. This is what some rushing knifers use. Its unbalanced. That's an entirely different subject, tho. My point is, the speed has been reduced somewhat, you just...don't notice it. A lot of people don't.

Everytime I play COD4, I'm playing this fast as shit video game, whereas, MW2 makes me feel like I'm playing the typical casual-tailored game, which ultimately pisses me off.

So, yeah, call me an idiot. Look who's talking.
