The data is right here in front me yet for some reason I can hardly manage to get any kills when aiming from the hip with my spas. If I ADS I can take down waves of enemys, but when I try to fire from the hip I miss a lot more :|
This is only true for the spas which is odd, must just be a mental thing I guess. |

But today, I was running Lightweight Pro (love quick aim after sprint), and I swear I was doing better when I started ADS instead of hipfiring. I just felt like I was able to lock on to targets better than when I was hipfiring and was missing alot less. I didn't notice a considerable decrease in the range I was pulling off kills at, either. Everything in what should be an effective shotty range was going down in one shot just about every time.

I always ADS with the spas, just cause it looks cool on the kill cams, but with the other shotguns i dont bother, i just spray and hope for the kill.

Since your first test was dont with Steady Aim, I went and tested without it (as well as with). Thiis what I found:
With Steady Aim, the hip spread was considerably tighter than ADS spread. Without Steady Aim, the hip spread was not noticably tighter than the ADS spread on a regular basis. It would randomly get tighter/wider spreads. Really didn't see a significant difference. So, I think the conclusion is that if you are using Steady Aim, don't ADS. If you dont, it doesn't really matter. If you could prove/disprove that with pics, that would be awesome.

I myself never have, and never will, ADS using a shotgun. And now it has been confirmed there is very little/no reason to.

Did you do multiple tests/multiple shots side by side? It seemed for me that the spread randomly got tighter/wider without Steady Aim when hipfiring.

Even though it was only one test, the pictures show that hipfire is not able to shoot with a spread as wide as with ADS. It is possible though that ADS sometimes shoots with a smaller spread, this test cannot rule that out. I shot all my ammo at one spot, mainly because I couldn't see how wide the spread was with only one shot.

These pictures look like they're from slightly different distances, though it could just be a slightly varying angle.

I noticed the same thing and didn't think it was enough to really make a difference. However, if anything the ads is closer than the hip fire which should reduce the ads spread.

You deserve a thanks for legitimately getting to 1000 posts.
And I ADS with shotguns because its a habit. IMO the models don't have a huge difference compared to the spas or other shotties |
