Ode to Modern Warfare:

O warfare of the generation now,
Why doth thine gameplay suck so hard,
You are a great mistake by infinity ward,
So many times I’ve wondered HOW?!
From defiance of physics’ laws,
To the defilement of my character model without just cause,
When my sniper’s bullet impacts your head,
YOU SURVIVE! Whilst in real life you would be dead,
Too many packages summoned from the sky,
And the cut-rate looking CGI,
Unrealistic ballistics and weapon handling galore,
The Barett and UMP I abhor,
Ancient weapons in a modern setting,
Who thought Akimbo rangers and the 1887 were fitting?!,
I cuss and swear,
and stamp and yell,
YOU LIGHTWEIGHT/MARATHON C***, GO BURN IN HELL!!!

Thus I yearn for the days of old,
With goldeneye, perfect dark, and Halo 1, they broke the molds,
When gaming with friends meant hooking up cables,
With TV’s and systems strewn about floors and tables,

But I’m afraid I may have given you the wrong impression,
Allow me to clarify with a slight digression,
I enjoy xbox live, its lots of fun,
Playing with my friends every night, it’s second to none!
So you see I’m quite open to exciting new things,
But I’m displeased with modern warfare and the anger it brings,
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had many good games,
The campaign was quite strong, and I particularly liked the flames,
But the flaws are still there,
And I can’t help but care,

So until November I must wait,
For Fallout, my pain to alleviate,
Deep in my heart, I know this,
For Fallout New Vegas, a leper wouldst I kiss,

But until this date
At my television I will scream,
And Modern Warfare will haunt my dreams.

Well its the truth, and the author is aware its not exactly a work of art. I suggest you quieten down and focus on the poem not other peoples opinions of the poem.

Personally I thought it was pretty funny, certainly highlighted a lot of the shit I experience from CoD

okay guys, this ain't english class. The guys poem is great in my opinion. Obviously to a person who's taken a class on poetry and studied every nuance of it will have a different view on it. and ishter, really saying he's posting offensive crap isn't necessary either.

And to clear things up, perhaps "offensive crap" was a little vulgar, and I apologize for this, but I don't see the need to judge the poem nor the author on standards evidently unattainable on a gaming forum.

Was very entertaining and I challenge you, clutch, to better this effort.
