Is there any method for the madness behind KS killing KS? For instance, I call in a harrier and the same time player X on the opposite team calls in a harrier, they both arrive at the same time, but mine shoots his down. Why was my harrier better than his? I seem to have pretty good luck w/ my harriers taking out other KS, and I don't see mine shot down too often. Thus, I'm perplexed.

Uhh... Actually, they do. KS will often aim to take down other KS if they notice them. And I've not the slightest as to why, you're just lucky I suppose.

The harrier rotates around the map. Whichever harrier sees the other first shoots it down.

Isn't it only harriers that do this? Not all killstreaks?

Harriers will shoot down other harriers for sure, and I'm pretty sure I've had an attack helicopter take down another, but it could have been a coincidence that +200 popped up at the time the other chopper went down.

So it sounds like its just pure luck ey?

I know Harriers shoot down helicopters, had one shoot down a CG once, just as it reached the map. Bet that guy was pissed.

hmm i'm gonna watch that a lil more closely... You must be lucky. mine barely shoot anything down. just heli's that i've noticed and hell that rarely happens. Im gunna try to position a Harrier right behind one or close to another when i get home and check out what happens

I love calling in any killstreaks and seeing points pop up on my screen, be it from killing a person or taking down another killstreak.

That is the best and coolest way to take out a CG, get and save a harrier then just call it in and the CG gets shot down the majority of the time. Once my harrier shot down a guy's CG literally 5 seconds after he called it in, so funny

Harrier = airstrike + chopper + anti KS + 7 Kill Streak = OverPowered?

Yeah and if done right you may be onto a lil way to make some extra points every match.

I get alot of kills with harriers! i got the 1000 kills with it about 2 weeks ago.
I mean yea they can be over powered like aka LANCE said. But thats because noone shoots them down... They can be taken down before they even fly all the way in. And they're an easy target for anyone to shoot outta the sky hovering the way they do. So basically, you're only faced with an airstrike and possibly 1 kill after that and that was on purpose to swap classes and take it down.

I dunno... i find Harriers to be one of my favorite KS' They're just so damned effective when noone does something about them.

airstrike << 1-3 kills almost always machine gun << 1-5+ kills almost always
Anti air << rarely for me but will test out positioning later to put other Air Support in line of sight.


Lol does anyone know if they shoot down UAV's?

Never had it shoot down a UAV, Counter-UAV, Predator, or AC-130. Shooting down UAVs would be funny. I love using stingers to take UAV/Counter-UAV out...such an easy way to get quick points.

Harriers shoot down any enemy air support that flies at their level. This means they can attack other harriers, helicopters, pave lows, and chopper gunners.

Kinda off topic, one time I took down an AC-130 with a predator missile. It was before he could even get a shot off too, I bet he was pissed.

You have to call in the predator right after the AC-130 gets called in or you probably won't be able to see it. It's not highlighted by a red box either, but it's there! You just gotta be quick.

What makes a harrier shoot at a killstreak instead of enemies? Do they all have to be inside, or does it just choose to take out a CG

it it passes in front of the harrier it will shoot at it with missles, IIRC

If the Harrier is facing an enemy killstreak it'll start firing missiles at it until its destroyed.

The angle and level the Predator Missile starts from is key to getting the AC-130... I did it once and have not been able to do it again, there was a red box around it.

yea i've only hit one with a pred... got lucky and took out a care package plane once too


I've never seen a harrier shoot down another harrier though.. .I've seen 2 harriers spin so close to each other I didnt want to shoot the enemy harrier down cuz I was afraid it would take mine out too


also sometimes the enemy harrier will move closer to other killstreaks if they stay in one spot and you can get them both in one shot

Harriers will always shoot down Chopper Gunners, Attack Helicopters, Pave lows, and other Harriers. It doesn't shoot down AC130s or UAVs because they are out of the Harriers line of sight. Harriers also make it their top priority to shoot down other Killstreaks first before attacking ground troops.
