Be so easy to camp the back rooms of Vacant with Scavenger or OMA. OMA grenade out of the warehouse on the side, enemy trapped outside and raped by airsupport. I can't see it being very fun to play.
Strike should be alright. Easy to get spawn raped by airsupport on that as well though. |

i like strike but i didnt like vacant because there was really on a couple ways go so if a team had you spawn trapped it sucked

Strike was my favorite CoD 4 map and I wanted them to bring it back in the stimulus instead of Crash, so this may be hard to resist. Vacant will be interesting.
Hopefully the new maps don't suck. Storm was the only good addition in the last one, Salvage and Bailout are fucking awful. |

I'm pretty excited for Strike, it was one of my favorite COD4 maps towards the end. Vacant was never one of my favorites, the only real benefit was the ability to slink around corners in the dark...but I suspect we will be seeing a lot of heartbeat sensors in the future...and shotguns...and claymores...and tubes...But I'll make the best of it.
There aren't really any maps currently that are as "dark" as vacant so I wonder how that will play out...there was a ton of night vision use in COD4 but other then thermal (which I'm not a huge fan of on ARs) there really isn't anything to account for the darkness of the inside hallways. I'm kinda excited to see how this map gets played, whether by camping one of the big rooms with tubes, by running around like crazy with tacknifes (more than usual), or by long AR battles in the corridors.

They may brighten up parts of the map like they did in Overgrown.
Vacant is going to suck so much back room is going to be a frigging pain and air support will suck ass for the people spawning outside.

Strike was in my Top 3 maps from CoD4 along with Ambush and Bog so I'm seriously psyched that its coming back, SnD on that map was and I hope still will be the best CoD experience possible. Vacant was pretty average I'm not going to lie, they could have chosen far better than that.
If they do a third map pack I would like to see Ambush and Crossfire make a return, not Bog unfortunatly because the kill streaks would destroy it.

Vacant is going to be OMALOL paradise, it was also the only map that i liked to shotgun in on cod4 but this time around it might be a little crazy with all the aa-12s and what nots.

Vacant has many areas to hide but is by no means airstrike proof, they even might add a few more skylights. the wharehouse has a broken roof great for ditch an airstike on or your harrier strike.
the longest corridoor has 3-4 skylights above you and now you can position an airstrike you can use it to full effect. also splash damage from CG or a big explosove round from an AC130 would be devastating if aim right through one of these areas. don't forget the little courtyard in the middle either. you wouldn't be totally safe in the back room on vacant as air support should fly round the back and there is a big line of windows to get you from and CG splash damage (thats if it does fly round the back there) will scare you off. if your gonna camp in that back room you will only be assisting in the spawn rape of your team and you will probably lose a TDM or get trapped in a domination match, get out there and take the fight to the people. now strike was a great map for pretty much any game mode in my opinion, it worked brilliant for objective games like domination and demo. TDM saw a lot of variation on this map with usually a good mix of classes running around and it caters for the snipers out there. OMALOL would go down very nicely i think on strike as there are many areas to flank around from and lots of areas for some cheaky claymores. i do feel like there will be spawn rape on both but no more so than a lot of the maps on MW2 already. have they confirmed a 3rd one yet, if so please give us crossfire and ambush the 2 greatest maps ever. |
